S t . Joach im and St . Anne, Grandparents of Jesus . . . P ray for us .
Right to Life
For all whose life is in danger, and especially for those for whom hunger and disease is a constant threat: that we might cherish their lives and seek to save them We pray to the Lord
Jesus tells the crowd that only those who renounce all of their possessions can be His disciples. Is He truly asking us to give us everything? Perhaps instead He is trying to help us see that everything we think we own is really a
gift from God. Good stewards know that and strive to use those gifts accountably.
Pray For Vocations
In today’s Gospel, we hear the Lord’s great call to discipleship. Jesus leaves nothing to the imagination when it comes to what he requires of those of us who wish to follow Him. Christ invites us to carry our cross and follow after Him. Discovering in what way we are called to do this is impossible without prayer. By doing so, we are not carrying our cross alone. The good Lord will guide us along the path He has chosen for us, whatever that may be. Following Christ in becoming a priest, deacon or religious brother or sister calls some of us to discipleship. If you think this might be your vocation, you are not alone. Contact the Vocation Office at 973-497-4365 or e-mail [email protected].

Join us as we accompany Archbishop Myers on the Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, DC, on Saturday, 27 October 2007.
Parishioners from Sacred Heart, St. Cassian’s, St. Thomas the Apostle and St. Valentine’s are invited on this grace-filled day honoring our Blessed Mother. There are two options for making the pilgrimage:
