    ST. VINCENT

    DE PAUL

In the Gospel today Jesus says:

“Repay to Caesar what belongs to

Caesar and to God what belongs to

God.” When God is the center of

our lives there is no problem with

    giving others their due.

Through your gift to the Society of

St . Vincent de Paul you

are helping your neighbor who is

    hungry, hopeless and frightened to

know that they belong to God.

    Parish Mission Statement

The Parish of St. Mary, Cause of Our Joy, inspired by Mary’s “Yes” and led by the Holy Spirit,

strives to be a faith-filled community, joyfully welcoming all to witness and to celebrate the Gospel.

    NOTES FROM PAUL

I am not sure how many of you pay attention to the words of the psalm that is sung at Mass, but

today's, psalm 96 is one of my favorites. It starts out "Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the

LORD, all you lands," and is a beautiful prayer calling for all people to praise God. Praise is

one of the thing that "belongs to God" (as opposed to what is Caesar's).

If you get some time over the next few days, look up this psalm and read it a few times. Take

the time to use it as a prayer, and ask God to help you see him as the Lord of all nations, and pray

that all nations "give to the LORD the glory due his name." Don't worry, it is a short psalm, but

in today's crazy world it may help to remember that God is there watching over all of us.

    Good bless,

    PaulGod bless you.

    MEMORARE

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that

anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or sought thy

intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto

thee O Virgin of virgins, our Mother. To thee do we come. Before thee

we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate,

despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us. Amen.

    ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I

love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul. Since I

cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least

spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there

and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from

    you. Amen.

The Dispensation From the Sunday Obligation to Attend Mass has been granted

and extended to All the Faithful through Monday, November 23, 2020

While in-person Masses are still being offered, the dispensation relieves the burden of conscience on those who

have legitimate grave fears of contracting COVID-19 or who care for vulnerable individuals, the directive states.

Those older than 65 years old (the recommended CDC age), those with a compromised health condition or those

caring for the sick in any way, are encouraged to stay home. Anyone who is ill, has a temperature, cough, etc.,

should definitely stay home as an act of justice to the whole community.

Catholics who engage in other activities which would present a similar or greater risk of contamination (eating

out at restaurants, traveling, non-essential shopping, widening one’s circle of contacts, etc.) should begin to return

to Sunday Mass as they are able.
