    Our study of Destiny basics will begin with a discussion ofwhat Destiny is as a teaching tool.

    We will talk about how to access Destiny. We will explore the different tabs on the hometoolbar and learn how to create links for areas of study. We will also discuss where, besides

    class, students might encounter technology.

    What is required of me?

    Throughout our study of Destiny, teachers will be shown how to create a Destiny theme tab, addinformation to the tab, and add the tab to Destiny Quest. Finally, teachers will be asked to

    complete a self-assessment on their participation in the lesson and their knowledge after the

    lesson.

    HHow will the students be hooked and held in this unit?

    To show that Destiny can in fact impact learning and engage learners, I will show

    them several Destiny pages that feature graphics and links to the Internet.

    EWhat activities, instruction, and guidance will be provided to

    enable and equip students to explore and experience the

    important ideas in this unit?

    In order to explore and experience Destiny, students will:

    -Become familiar with Destiny.

    -Create a theme tab.

    -Manipulate objects.

    -Use information from the Internet.

    -A wiki offering useful links and a link to a video tutorial will be uploaded to the

    Teachers will have the opportunity to create a Destiny query and explore

    what Destiny has to offer.

    OHook:

    Destiny: I will begin the lesson with a congratulatory

    slide featuring the uses of Destiny. I will then givemy own testimony about how teaching with Destiny

    has enhanced the learning of my students and changed

    how I design lessons.

    Explanation, Interpretation and Application:

    -Teachers will demonstrate an understanding of how

    to use Destiny by designing their own theme tabs.

    -Teachers will demonstrate that they can apply the

    information learned in this lesson by utilizing thetheme tabs.

    listen to and respond to their peers questions about

    using Destiny

    Click on Internet Explorer and go to the Wheeler County Elementary

    School Home Page. Click on Resources and then click Library. From

    the library welcome page, scroll down click on Destiny Quest. Destiny

    should open.
