Speakers

Political Correctness and Jihad with William Kilpatrick Tuesday, 29th 4:00 pm MLT It is the belief of our guest speaker that the West’s self-imposed silence about the nature of radical Islam has en-abled the spread of radicalism. Politically correct strictures on speech have created a climate of fear which pre-vents citizens from speaking out when they have legitimate suspicions. We are told that “If you see something, say something,” but most of us realize that if we say something we might be made to regret it. Our guest, author of “Christianity, Islam and Atheism: The Struggle for the Soul of the West” discusses further in this seminar.

A Special Day of Remembrance Isn’t it odd how time passes by after the loss of a loved one; often leaving us with a sense that life does go on, but often without closure? Since the earliest move-in activity at The Terraces in July 2013, we’ve said goodbye to many spouses, friends and neighbors who brought happiness and joy to our lives. Though loss is painful, remembrance acts as chicken soup for the heart. As a simple but honorable way to remember our residents, I’ve asked our Lifestyles Department to coordinate a special remembrance ceremony in the performing arts room on March 31st, 2016. This will be an informal gathering of residents and staff who desire to attend. HOPE Hospice Chaplain Dennis Wilson will memorialize the passing of residents since we opened Terraces. Chaplain Wilson will also officiate the ceremony through prayer and by extending an opportunity for others to share wonderful memories. Instead of being a somber event, our residents and staff may use this time to talk, laugh and share the good times they had with a person who died. In recognition of those who passed before us, tolling of a bell will resonate for each person we’ve bid farewell. This is not a formal ceremony so come dressed in relaxed clothing. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony along with musical favourites. Please feel free to adorn the PAC room with a photograph, scrapbook or memento of a loved one. We’ll save you a seat! Be well, Ross

Memorial Service Thursday, 11:00 am PAC Residents and associates are invited to join together in a memorial service for all of our LifeCare and Assisted Living residents who have left us since our opening in July, 2013. Please come observe the names and remember them with joy for the good times shared! Ross Dickmann, Executive Director will make a short presentation, followed by a benediction by Reverend Dennis Wilson, of Hope Hospice. Name cards of residents may be taken by guests at the end of service, if desired.
