Pre-­‐  Production    Meeting  –  Discuss  story  idea,  what  will  be  needed,  who’s  

responsible*  for  what  (Prepare,  Plan,  Contingency  plan!)  

  *Roles:  Director,  Writer,  Camera,  Editor,  Lights,  Electrical,  Storyboard,  Costume,  Make  Up,  Assistants,  Dolly  Truck  operators)  

  Storyboard  (which  kinds  of  shots  to  take)  

  Schedule    the  shots  to  be  completed  

  Cast  actors,  or  schedule  the  key  speakers/demonstrators  for  camera  shots

STORYBOARD:  

  Purpose-­‐  visualize  film’s  look,  describe  a  sequence,  guide  to  shooting  (which  kinds  of  shots)  

  STEPS-­‐  1)  Place  shots/scenes  in  order  2)  Plan  story  so  that  images/script  is  easily  understood  &  3)  Plan  your  film  very  interesting  for  target  audience  4)  Consider  how  fast/or  slow  5)Cut  unneccessary  shots  6)Smooth,  clear,  logical  flow  from  shot  to  shot,  scene  to  scene  

  Mood-­‐  Low  angle-­‐character  is  dominant  

  Motion-­‐  Use  arrows  (characters  move  L-­‐R)
