Installing Stained Glass Inc. Inserts into Existing DoorsThe process of installing a stained glass insert to your door is relatively simple. You can choose to hire a carpenter or do it yourself. More detailed instructions are included with your order.

Interior Solid Doors (with no glass)To add stained glass to an existing wood door, measure the stained glass insert size you need. Cut a hole in the solid door, apply corner molding to one side and then glue the stained-glass panel in place. Install additional molding on the opposite side of the door to hold the insert in place. For a hollow core door, the process is the same except that after you cut the opening you will need to add some wood blocking inside the perimeter of the opening you cut (where the core is hollow) to create a solid core effect for the stained glass insert to rest on.

Doors with glassYou can generally leave the existing glass in place. Depending on the door you may need to either: 1.) Remove the inside molding2.) Install the insert next to the glass and then re install

the molding; or Install the insert next to the glass and caulk the edge.

Metal Doors and Stained Glass Inc. InsertsMost metal doors have a track where the glass rests. To add stained glass to a metal door, the process is similar to a wood door.
