What it consists of
Tubular steel sections are of great interest for the construction industry due to shorter installation times, strength, duration and rigidity, as well as ease of use, leading to high overall economy. Moreover, their attractive appearance gives them great aesthetic appeal.
There are different kinds of carpentry sections:
• Series A, B and C for carpentry and lock-making
These are pickled steel sections for carpentry and lock-making. They have a carefully-designed aesthetic appeal with fl at pickled steel surfaces that can be painted, galvanised, etc. They are manufactured with precise measurements, with perfect coupling between sections. With regard to labour costs, they are very economical and do not require straightening or welding of bars or angles.
Specifi cations and applications- A Series (carpentry) General dimensions of 45x35 mm with a thickness of 1.5 mm. Ideal for windows, doors, balconies, skylights and carpentry in general.- B Series (carpentry - lock-making) General dimensions of 50x50 mm with a thickness of 2 mm. Ideal for large windows, shop windows, doors and balconies, skylights, interior
walls. - C Series (lock-making) Dimensiones generales de 80x50 mm. con espesor de 2 mm. General dimensions of 80x50 mm with a thickness of 2 mm. Especially appropriate for interior partitions, shop windows, trucks, fencing,
gardening, general lock-making.
• D Series for carpentry with seals
Series of galvanised steel sections with housings for seals (assembly with watertight seal) for doors and windows: carpentry for general use. Ideal for applications such as shop premises, ground fl oors, sports installations, industrial buildings, schools, outside doors into gardens of detached homes, etc. They are also used frequently for singular buildings in which an appropriate material is sought for large glazed surfaces, or with an attractive, aesthetic appearance.
- Description of the series This is a series of welded sections for metal carpentry, the main innovation of
which is their housing for seals. Together with the characteristic high-strength of steel, which can support large glazed surfaces, the seal also provides advantages in:
- Watertight seals - Permeability to air - Noiseless operation
Their main advantages are as follows: - Flush front surface in doors and windows. - Concealed section weld with higher surface quality. - Easy assembly. - Compatibility with commercial fi ttings. - A large range of paints and colours can be applied.
- Steel sections of greater strength than other metals, which allows them to support large glazed surfaces and thicknesses of up to 32 mm.
- Fire resistance.
On the other hand, these sections can be applied to a wide variety of enclosures.
General product characteristics

General product characteristics
- Specifi cations Metal carpentry made up of galvanised steel sections including sections for swing-mounted and drop doors and windows,
as well as other solutions for external enclosures.
These are harmonised sections with a height of 50 mm, in two widths, with a thickness of 1.5 mm, which allow a number of different combinations. They include a housing for fi tting a seal, which allows them to be assembled with a watertight chamber of 10 to 12 mm with double EPDM seal or thermoplastic rubber.
The offer internal and external surface protection by means of a galvanised Sendzimir coating or subsequent chrome plating.
D5500 series sections allow a great variety of subsequent paint treatments both with regard to colour and surface fi nish, which allows them to be adapted to the required aesthetic needs.
- Accessories The D5500 series requires a number of additional commercial elements that can be supplied together with the sections.
- BattenSection used to hold a glass pane against the frame.
A specifi c batten has been developed for this series. This is a U-shaped section with fl ange and a small turn inwards for simpler assembly and better fastening. Moreover, this design allows the batten to continue working correctly even when it has been removed and reassembled.
The batten comes in a number of different widths.
- SealHoused in the cavity in this section, this is responsible for guaranteeing watertightness. Grupo Condesa has its own tooling in Exterplas (company engaged in the manufacture of watertight seals) for the manufacture of a tailor-made section for the D5500 series.
This is a SEBS thermoplastic rubber profi le, of the Santoprene type, which offers several advantages compared to EPDM:- It is recyclable.- It each guarantees optimum operating characteristics over a wider range of temperatures (from -40?C to +125?C).- It is less sensitive to temperature variations (summer-winter).
• Other carpentry sections
This group includes carpentry sections for doors and windows with dimensions and thicknesses not covered in the A, B, C and D Series.
