The draft housing policycreates three new categoriesfor houses with carpet areaof less than 750 sq ft.

Stamp duty will be reduced from5% to 1, 2 and 3 percentrespectively for them

Stamp duty for the threecategories will be leviedbased on market rate instead of the readyreckoner rate.

Registration fees will also bebrought down from ̀25,000

to ̀1,000

Reduction in stamp duty &registration fees to makehouses up to 750 sq ft more affordable.

However, the stamp duty andregistration norms will remain
