Sustainable MaterialRattan, or Cane, is a spiny climbing palm that grows in degraded tropical forests and marginal soil, what makes it possible to introduce cane to other forests without disturbing its existing structure and balance.
Cane can attain lengths of over 185 metres. There are 13 rattan genera with 700 known species. Due to its strength and flexibility, the stem of rattan is used extensively in the manufacture of cane furniture and in matting. Its processing requires only simple tools and low-cost machines.
It is environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
A sixty foot tree cut for market takes 60 years to replace. A sixty foot bamboo/rattan cut for market takes 59 days to replace.
Handmade process would be the ideal tool to manufacture this stand alone. Handmade enhances the concept of fresh, new and exclusive, what totally relates to the brand essence.
