BACKGROUND and AIMS:• chemical elements emitted from geological bedrock (geochemical background) have positive or negative influence on the health status of residents of the Slovak Republic (deficit or excess of chemical elements that are necessary or toxic for human health),•the identification and analysis of the impact of geological environment on human health of Slovak resident population is the main AIM of the project.

MAIN EU POLICY(IES) TARGETED:• according to the „European Environment & Health Action Plan 2004 – 2010“, it is necessary to compile datasets of environmental health indicators and to elaborate the methodology of the mutual assessment of sources of pollutants and their health effects. • in our project, we are going to elaborate the impact of geological factors (environmental indicators) on human health (health indicators) and propose the way of their mutual linking (artificial intelligence – neural networks),• relationships derived for the territory of the Slovak Republic will have general relevance and value for the whole EU.LIFE10 Kick-off Meeting,
