During my 22 years as a media banker in Europe and Asia I financed over 250 feature films and television productions lending in excess of US$3b during my career. In 2013 I set up Saradan Media with my long term client and friend Karinne Behr, our CEO, to finance, produce and distribute content internationally.

This year we are producing an incredibly exciting, 12 part cutting-edge TV series with the renowned martial arts and action star, Steven Seagal. This $12m series will be shot predominately in Manila, where the team will have their headquarters. The series will also feature Burma, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Bangkok, Saigon, London, New York, and Marbella.The series will be produced by the internationally acclaimed action Producer and Director, Philippe Martinez.

The sales team at Saradan Media has already secured a co-production agreement with SPI/FILMBOX and pre- sales with broadcasters in numerous countries/regions such as Italy, France, Japan, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Middle East to name a few. ABS/CBN is our broadcast partner in the Philippines.

LOGLINE, SYNOPSIS, SHOW NOTES/LOOK

LOGLINE: After the tragic death of a team member and being forced to close the case against the criminal responsible by their superiors, a Southeast Asian CIA team eliminates bureaucratic restraints by forming their own independent unit to exact justice on the worst criminals of the underworld.

SYNOPSIS: Southeast Asia is a land of beautiful landscapes, people, culture, spirituality and vibrant cities, but underneath the beautiful veneer lies opposing darkness, grime, prostitution, slavery, drugs, and corrupt officials.

Decorated CIA operative Jake Alexander has dedicated his career to eliminating crime from Southeast Asia out of commitment to his job and love for his new found home. While on a mission to stop a Black Market organ dealer’s organization, Jake loses a vital team member, Zach Stevens, when Stevens is killed during a sting operation. At Alexander’s debriefing, his long time handler Jessica Thompson informs him that the case against the organ trafficker is closed due to the fallout, and that he and his team will be reassigned to another part of the world.

Disillusioned that they cannot bring the killer to justice, Alexander and his fellow team members convene and decide that the job isn’t over until Stevens’ killer is taken down. Rather than face reassignment, the team resolves to hand in their resignations to the CIA and form a rogue security unit, funded by an old friend of Alexander’s; local billionaire magnate Katia Sokolov. Sokolov agrees to fund the operation in exchange for protection and security. Armed with Sokolov’s resources, the team has everything they need to bring criminals to justice without the politics, rules, and regulations of the CIA.

Once on their own, the team is dedicated to bringing down criminals by any means necessary.



LOGLINE, SYNOPSIS, SHOW NOTES/LOOK

SHOW NOTES/LOOKS: The show will have a juxtaposition of aesthetics, with a gritty, grimy look contrasted by a very glamorous, luxurious element which is bookended by glorious establishing shots. One prominent attraction of the series will be the exotic Asian locations, featuring beaches and mountain vistas as well as action packed sequences in thriving regional cities such as Manila, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Ho Chi Minh City. It will additionally feature locations in major European and U.S. cities including Marbella, Moscow, London and New York.

Another main attraction is the team’s base of operations, which is a lavish apartment penthouse, along with a technologically advanced control room/command center, and a munitions and gear warehouse. The building has access to a rooftop helipad, a launch bay on the river, and a variety of surface entryways into the city. Replete with all of the tactical weaponry, technology, and transportation necessary to conduct their work, the base of operations is a key component to the success of their missions.

Wherever the team operates or travels on their missions during the course of the series, locations will always allow for mobile access to land, sea, and air, as well as a computer/information hub and weapons bay.



CREATOR/ PRODUCERFrom 1988 through 1990, Philippe Martinez was President of the famous Odeon Theater in Marseilles, one of the largest playhouses in Europe. At the end of 1990, at the age of 22, he decided to focus on a career as a feature film producer and moved to the United States. Since 1999, when Philippe launched Bauer Martinez Studios he has produced over 35 films.

Karinne is C.E.O. of Saradan Media, She has been in film distribution, film production for over 26 years. Ms. Behr was President of Bauer Martinez Studios, from 1999 to 2008. During her tenure as President, she negotiated more than 23 film loans and was actively involved in the negotiations of foreign and domestic pre-sell distribution agreements with distributors, including running the day to day operation of the foreignsales division.

In 2009, she became President of International Distribution of Pangea Media Group. The company held the catalogues of prestigious companies such as Capitol Films, Largo, Intermedia, Franchise Pictures. Ms. Behr was brought in to rebrand and head their foreign sales division and manage their film catalog which includes over 1000 titles.

Lee M. Beasley is an experienced media banker with more than 20 years extensive experience of providing senior debt finance to the media sector around Asia together with funding of both local and worldwide LEE independent film and television BEASLEY projects.

Lee is a regular speaker at industry events and attends all of the key film and television markets around the world. During his career, Lee has provided funding for over 250 film and television projects and built a solid network of key industry contacts around the globe. Projects financed range from straightforward local small/medium sized films to multi million, multi territory, multi-party co-productions.



JAKE ALEXANDER - American from Virginia, late 50s. Alexander is stern, silent, focused, and determined. A former CIA operative, he was raised with the military, having a father who was an admiral in the navy. Previously married to the love of his life, an American woman, who was murdered 15 years earlier. Her case was never solved. Due to the trauma of her death, Alexander is withdrawn and has difficulty interacting with others, excepting his longtime best friend and fellow agent Tom Benton. Alexander is remarried to Mongolian wife, Tuya, who lives in the Philippines where Alexander keeps her secretly for her protection. After losing teammate Zach Stevens, Alexander becomes disillusioned with the CIA when he is told that he cannot pursue the man responsible. After deliberations with his team, he resigns his position and forms a new elite operation with his fellow former agents and assets to catch Stevens’ killer and fight crime without the constraints and rules of the CIA.

TOM BENTON - British, late 50’s. Strong, athletic, man of action, and lady-killer. Benton is the social opposite of best friend and colleague Jake Alexander. Benton is a kind of team therapist and go-to in the even of communication problems. He is fun loving, charismatic, carefree, and the life of any party. He loves action and the thrill of the chase. He is always ready to rally the team and provide leadership in a crisis. Never married and has no children. Benton is the only person who knows about Alexander’s secret family in the North.

SONIA DEKKER - Eurasian beauty, 35. Dekker is smart, cunning, and a force to be reckoned with. She is the quintessential seductress and femme fatale. Growing up an orphan, Dekker resorted to a life of grift and con. After the team thwarts one of her money-laundering schemes, Dekker is sent to prison on a five-year sentence. Alexander arranges for her early release after serving a year-and-a-half of her sentence inexchange for joining the team as a key intelligence gatherer. She falls in love with agent Zach Stevens who teaches her that true love and goodness is a better path than a life of crime. Dekker is the impetus behind avenging Stevens. The revelation of her relationship with him motivates the team to continue the case against the criminals responsible for his death.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS



ANNA ROSEN - Brazilian, 30s, single, beautiful, reclusive, and reserved. Her weapon of choice is any piece of technology. A ten-year-old laptop becomes a WMD in her hands. After the death of her parents she is sent to live with her godparents. A world-class hacker and linguist, she was recruited by the CIA after her talent for technology was revealed while serving in the Brazilian Military.

BEN HARRISON - East Texas American, 32. Strong, athletic, formidable martial artist, and ruggedly handsome. Former sniper for the 82nd Airborne Rangers and member of an anti-terrorist unit. Harrison was recruited by Alexander to join his CIA unit in Asia. Harrison is strictly by the book. Follows any order given. A good-hearted, deeply religious Christian, he loves mom, rodeo, good barbecue and beer, and acts as the moral compass of the team. Following the death of his father, he sends money home to his mother to help support her and his younger siblings, including his brother who attends university.




MARIA LOPEZ - Filipina, 28, beautiful, liberated, sexy, and deadly. Maria is a take no prisoners type. Tough as nails. Devout Catholic. She was raised by her Filipino police officer father who is an old friend of Alexander. Maria’s father made sure she was versed in the art of survival and combat. She can drive or fly any vehicle, knows various martial arts styles, is a small weapons expert, and is great at infiltration. Her father convinces Alexander to take her into his Asian CIA unit as a contractor to continue her training.

KATYA SOKOLOV - Hong Kong based Russian, daughter of a billionaire tycoon and a business maven in her own right, 40’s. Sokolov has worldwide holdings and top political connections. She is a shipping, casino, and real estate tycoon after inheriting her father’s empire. When her father’s old friend Alexander approaches her to finance his new team, Sokolov agrees to repay a debt owed to Alexander who saved Sokolov’s life. Not married, no kids. Sokolov can be found on her yacht or at one of her many hotels and or luxury real estate holdings.




ALEC HAYES - CIA Department Director, 65. Hayes oversees the handlers of top ranking field agents. He is boss to Alexander’s handler, Jessica Thompson. Hayes is a conniving, duplicitous dirt bag who is the silent partner of Katia Sokolov. Hayes runs a dark sector of the CIA that deals in unsanctioned activities.

JESSICA THOMPSON - American 40’s. No bullshit, by the book CIA brass. She is Alexander’s long time handler and is upset and concerned when Alexander and his team resigns. She is promoted to head of the CIA’s SouthEast Asia Division. Under constant pressure from Director Hayes to shut down the rogue operation, Thompson indulges Alexander and the team’s dealings until their activities result in conflicts with the CIA and the orders comingdown from Hayes.

TUYA - Alexander’s Mongolian wife, 35. Kind, smart, and dedicated. She lives in rural Northern Philippines in a farming village. Alexander keeps Tuya in Northern Luzon to protect her from his dangerous world and his many deadly enemies. She patiently waits for Jake to retire and join them in the North. She is disappointed when he puts together his new team, foregoing his retirement plans and creating an even more dangerous life for himself and his family.




LONIFARHI - Mr. Loni Farhi is founder, President and Chief Executive Officer at SPI International, Inc., Chairman-Supervisory Board at Kino Polska TV SA, and a Member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Mr. Farhi was previously employed as Chief Executive Officer by Software in the Public Interest, Inc. and Managing Partner of Ans International.

CHAVIT SINGSON - Governor (from 2010-2013) of the Philippine province of Ilocos Sur and former Member of the Philippine House of Representatives. Mr. Singson is a very successful businessman. Before entering politics, he owned a Philippine bus line and a tobacco factory, among other companies. Whether as a politician or businessman, his legacy is simply outstanding. His passion for excellence is a vital factor in his enduring success.

PATRICK ZYLBERMAN - F.I.P (First International Production) is a company founded in 1985 by its actual CEO, Patrick Zylberman. This independent company has a strong and valuable expertise in the acquisition of international films for all rights.

For the past 4 years, FIP has focused its activities on the theatrical market in France in addition to video publishing. FIP holds a library of rights of more than 200 titles.
