STARS Portal- Overview
STARS shops will have the ability to retrieve information on
claims for which they have assignments via a web portal.
The following information will be available:
• Payments made.
• Deductible
• Assignment date
• Estimates received
• Coverage
• Rental coverage (if rental coverage is available)
• Rental Reservation (if a rental reservation is created)
The STARS Portal site URL is: www.partners.usaa.com/StarsPortal.
Retrieve Vehicle Details Page
The Retrieve Vehicle page is
where the user enters the search
criteria.
The following information is
required for a search:
1. PSP Number
2. Member Number
3. Loss Details- loss report
number or loss date.
4. Security Check
5. Acknowledgement of the
“USAA End User Agreement”.

Vehicle Details
The Vehicle Details page displays
the claims information that
corresponds with the search
criteria.
The first section displays the
search criteria entered by the
user.

Vehicle Details-Vehicle Information
The Vehicle Information section
displays the following
information:
1. Year, Make and Model of the
vehicle
2. Type of vehicle- Insured vs.
Claimant
3. Vin number- This information
is displayed only if available

The Assignment Date section
displays the date in which USAA
created the appraisal
assignment.

Vehicle Details-Coverage and Deductible
The Coverage and Deductible section displays the coverage and deductible that is applicable for the vehicle.
Coverage- The coverage that USAA has opened and associated to pay for the damages to the vehicle. If the coverage has not been opened in the loss this section will not display.
Deductible- The portion of the claim in which the customer is responsible for paying . This section will only display for Insured Vehicles.
The Deductible section can display the following:
1. A numeric amount (ex. 200)-This is the amount the customer is responsible for paying.
2. “Waived”- There is a deductible and it will be paid by USAA.
3. “Not applicable”- There is not a deductible for this coverage.

Vehicle Details-Rental Coverage and Reservation
The Rental Coverage and Reservation
section displays information regarding
rental for the vehicle.
Rental Coverage- This indicates
whether the customer has rental
reimbursement coverage on their
policy for this loss. This section will
only display for Insured Vehicles.
Rental Reservation- This indicates
whether a rental reservation has been
created for the customer with a USAA
vendor.

Active Rental Assignment

Vehicle Details-Estimates
This Estimate section displays
the all of the estimates sent in
by the user that have been
received.
You will only be able to see
estimates that meet all of the
following criteria:
1. The estimate was written by
user.
2. The estimate was uploaded
and successfully received by
USAA.
3. The estimate has passed the
USAA audit system.

Vehicle Details-Payments
The Payment section displays the
all payments issued for vehicle
damage.
Issued- The date the payment
was issued or will be issued.
Amount- The amount of the
payment issued.
Status- The status of the
payment. There are several
types of status. The user can
get a list of the various status
types by clicking on the word
“Status”.
Paid to You- This indicates
whether you are listed as a
payee on the payment issued.
There may be additional payees
and the check may not have
been mailed to you.

Vehicle Details- View Another
The “View Another” will take the
user back to search page to
perform another search.

STARS Portal- Wrap Up
The portal should be the STARS shop first source to obtain
claims information for a loss.
If the shop can not find the information or has additional
questions regarding to the loss that the portal can not answer,
the user can contact USAA.
Contact the PDS for any questions regarding payments.
Contact the USAA File Handler (1-800-531-8722) for any
additional questions not involving payments.
