How important does a person have to be before they areconsidered assassinated instead of just murdered?

Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing theclothes you were buried in for eternity?

Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway...

Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Starhave the same tune?

Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

I sent this for the newsletter last year, but have heard ofanother way to remove ticks just recently. So I thought Iwould send this again, as they seem to be everywhere thisyear. I personally stick with the standard tweezers makingsure to get the head before pulling the blood sucker out. This is the most recommended way to remove a tick andkeep it from infecting you. But I had to look up some homeremedies that where listed and here is a list that I foundpeople actually use to remove ticks…

1. Light a match, blow it out and stick the hot end on

the butt of the tick. It will back out.

2. Put dishwashing soap on a cotton ball and cover

the tick. In about a minute, check the cotton ball

and the tick should have backed out and be stuck to

the ball.

3. Put insect spray on a Q-tip and cover the tick. In a

minute or two the tick will back out.

4. There is a product called “Tic-Off” that you spray

on the tick and it supposed to fall right off. This

product claims it paralyzes the tick keep it from

infecting you.

5. Dandruff shampoo such as pert plus, head and

shoulders on a cotton ball will cause the tick to

back out.

6. Absolutely smoother the tick in butter and it

suffocate the tick, causing it to just fall off.

7. Cover the tick in finger nail polish and it

eventually comes out on its own.

8. Cover the whole tick in Vaseline and it will die and

fall off very quickly

9. Use a small wood dowel and gorilla glue. Put a dab

of glue on the dowel and then place it against the

tick. Wait a few minutes and then pull the

smothered tick out with the glue.

10. New – Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball.

Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and

swab it for a few seconds (15-20), the tick will

come out on it’s own and be stuck to the cotton

ball when you lift it away.

Please keep in mind any remedies such as Vaseline, hotmatches, nail polish remover, etc- could actually makethings worse. Anything that might cause 'shock' to the tickcould result in the tick purging the contents of its body intoyour bloodstream, infecting you with any number ofdiseases. If you start to see any sign of a bulls eye aroundthe area of the tick bite GO SEE A DOCTOR!

June Water Outing - Sheppard Point Recreation Area at Heyburn Lake

Report of Sheppard Point Outing on June 27th

The club outing to Sheppard Point Recreation Area at Heyburn Lake on Saturday, June27th was a good one. The high temperature was around the 86° mark , a nice coolbreeze, and a moderately warm lake water temperature. The week before the outingHeyburn Lake had been 7’ above normal and there was a large amount of submergeddriftwood in the swimming area.

The club supplied hamburgers, hot links, hot dogs, buns, condiments, & chips. RogerEaton again handled the cooking, I think it is now a Tradition. Good job Roger andThank You! Thanks to John Freeman Jr. for picking up the food, supplies, extra scoops,a crippled up old guy, and transporting them to the outing. And Thanks again to JohnHamilton for picking up from the ITTHC storage building, taking & storing the grill &tables and he will be bringing them to this Summer’s water outings. There were 34members standing in line to chow down on burgers, dogs, and the outstanding foodassortment brought by club members. Thanks to all those bringing the great side dishesand desserts. If you went away hungry at this outing, again it was your own fault.

After the big feed there were scattered as evenly as possible 184 tokens in a 40 yards X 60yards designated area. There were 14 member donated prizes, and 160 tokens for Silverdimes, 16 tokens for Silver quarters, and 8 tokens for Silver half dollars. When thestart signal was given there were 21 water hunters frothing the water. After 1 hour+ ofhunting, all but 8 dime tokens and 2 Silver half dollar tokens were not recovered. Thosetokens not recovered were probably on the North end of the area. There was a largeramount of submerged driftwood on that end.

Member donated prizes: Mermaid wooden jigsaw puzzle by Jinjer Bighan. Watertitebox & Mexican coin by Lloyd Coke won by John Hamilton. Walking Liberty half dollar

by Jean & Wally Dick won by John Hamilton. $5.00 donated by Roger Eaton won byJames Marcum. Telephone pole insulator by Ken Fanning won by John Hayworth.

$5.00 donated by Jody & John Hamilton won by Charles Bohuslavicky. $5.00 donatedby Jody & John Hamilton won by Bill Rouse. Coin/Medal shadow box display by Kim

Hauger won by Rachel “Birthday Girl” Hayworth. Garrett cap by Chuck Marcum wonby Roger Eaton. Book by Chuck Marcum won by John Hamilton. 5-Golden Dollars

donated by Mike Mitchell won by James Marcum. . 5-Golden Dollars donated by Mike

Mitchell won by Wally Dick. Bass Pro cap & tape measure by Howie Rosser won byWally Dick. Brush set by Bill Rouse won by Mathew Fortney.

Some of the higher totals found were: Bill Rouse 20 Silver dimes, 1 Silver quarter, 1Silver half dollar, & 1 prize token. James Marcum 16 Siver dimes, 2 Silver quarters, 1Silver half dollar, & 2 prize tokens. Mathew Fortney 17 Silver dimes, 1 Silver quarter,& 1 prize token. Wally Dick 13 Silver dimes, 1 Silver quarter, & 2 prize tokens. LloydCoke 12 Silver dimes, 1 Silver quarter, & 1 Silver half dollar. John Hamilton 6 Silverdimes, 1 Silver quarter, 1 Silver half dollar, & 3 prize tokens. John Hayworth 10 Silverdimes & 1 prize token. Ken Fanning 9 Silver dimes & 1 Silver quarter. Mike Mitchell 9Silver dimes & 1 Silver quarter.

Again, one of the main reasons for this type of outing, besides the food of course, is togive non-water hunting members a chance to try their hand at it. Also, the fun andfellowship of being with people that enjoy the same hobby.

Again, if you missed this outing, you missed a great one. Don’t miss the next one!
