ANSWER:All three understand the
importance of WHY to the
LEARNER
![Page 11: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
So what’s my why?
![Page 12: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
Etching it out...
![Page 13: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
Etching it out...
![Page 14: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Beginning the build...
![Page 15: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Beginning the build...
![Page 18: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
and then rethinking the course...
Why are our students doing this course?
Why are we building it?
And are those motivations compatible?
![Page 19: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
and then rethinking the course...
Why are our students doing this course? We can make assumptions, but it helps to
ask our students - so that they are cognitively processing it too!
![Page 20: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/20.jpg)
and then rethinking the course...Why are we building it?
Personal and organisational motivations could include:
* raising institutional profile;* sharing a passion for a subject;* skill building within an organisation;* and more...
All of which are valid!
![Page 21: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
BUT:
Are those motivations compatible?
![Page 22: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/22.jpg)
We needed to go back to why!
![Page 23: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/23.jpg)

Connect the learning scaffolding to the learning
process
![Page 25: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
What is my experience?
How does that experience connect with the course?
How is my why served by this how?
Test it out!
Changing the brain...
![Page 26: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
Then get the explanations happening!
![Page 27: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/27.jpg)
What is my experience?
How does that experience connect with the course?
How is my why served by this how?
Test it out!
Tell the whole story!
![Page 28: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
A different approach...
![Page 29: Starting (and ending!) with Why](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061110/5453029eaf795908308b54d0/html5/thumbnails/29.jpg)
I’ve forgotten most of what I was taught
BUT;
I’ve remembered everything I learned
