Stakes Placed: Coming off her impressive maiden win by 4 ½ lengths, Starving

Artist stepped right into Stakes action in the Allen Black Cat LaCombe Memorial.

She does her best running on the lead but in this race was forced to run wide

and come from off the pace. Starving Artist had the widest trip in the race yet

still managed to close down the middle of the stretch to run a hard fought 3rd

to BEYOND BLAME who went on to win the G3 Regret Stakes.

Last Out Winner: Starving Artist is the kind of filly that gets brave on the lead

and she proved that on July 1st when she took an Allowance N1X field going

wire-to-wire 1 mile on the turf. She earned a career best 9 ¼ Thoro-Graph and

equaled her career best 78 Beyer that she earned earlier in the year.

Stakes packed summer: There are not many Allowance N2X races for 3 year-

old fillies going 1 mile on the turf. Having won her N1X in impressive fashion

and already Stakes placed, Starving Artist has proved that she belongs in this

company. A possible Stakes schedule for her is as follows:

Pretty ($100k): Starving Artist was a $100,000 2 year-old purchase from the

Fasig-Tipton Timonium sale. This price more than doubled the average price

of Paynter 2 year-old fillies that year proving that she has a pretty physical and
