Southeastern Veterans’ Center Update
• SEVC is conducting a pilot study for outsourcing dietary services. • Conducting a Request for Proposal for the medical Services Contract.
• A demolishing, road improvement, and general repairs project is currently underway
at SEVC. Estimated completion date August 2017.
• Construction of the new Maintenance Building schedule to begin this Spring 2017.
• A Capital Construction Project to renovate Coates Hall and open an Adult Day Health Care unit is estimated to begin June/July 2018.

Vetted in Law, Pa.C.S. 51 § 1702 (b)(3) Four members at large appointed by the Governor from a list provided by the Adjutant General, each of whom shall be a Veteran and member in good and regular standing of a Pennsylvania branch, post, lodge or club of a recognized national Veterans’ organization active in this Commonwealth.
At least one member shall be a female Veteran, and At least one member shall be a Veteran of the Vietnam era. Members at large shall serve a term of four years and until a successor has been
Appointed.
Anyone can nominate anyone provided the nominee meets the criteria as cited above. DMVA-OVA follows a long established office procedure that meets the requirements of the Office of the Governor. Each nominee must be recommended in writing (Letter of Recommendation)
Each nominee must provide a biography citing his or her qualifications for the position The Deputy Adjutant General for Veterans Affairs compiles nominations and forwards them to The Adjutant General for his approval and further transmission to the Governor.

ASSUMPTION: Governors Office Procedures We have asked PPL to validate the exact office procedures That are used by the Governors office. Our understanding of those procedures at this time Are:
Nominations are received from DMVA through our Policy, Planning and Legislative Office A background check of some sort (vetting) is conducted. Vacancies on the State Veterans Commission are validated Once Governors internal procedures are completed packets are presented to the Governor for consideration. Governor decides which packets are approved and affixes his signature Member at Large affirms their appointment and returns a copy of affirmation to the Department of State Appointments are returned to DMVA through our Policy, Planning and Legislative Office Chairman of the State Veterans Commission is notified of new MAL appointments
