To be eligible for AgSkilled subsidised training you must be working in or seeking employment in the NSW cotton or grains industry. You must also meet the Smart and Skilled eligibility requirements. This course is 2 days of training and the program is structured as follows: Day 1 - Confined Space (includes Confined Space Awareness) Day 2 - Confined Space (includes Confined Space Refresher) Pre-reading material will be sent to participants prior to course. Participants will cover areas such as ¡ What is a confined space and what makes it a confined space ¡ Regulations and legislations ¡ Confined space hazards - atmospheric and other ¡ Entry permits ¡ Risk assessments ¡ Hot work permits ¡ Entry and exit register ¡ Rescue procedures ¡ A practical component which encompasses a rescue on a life size dummy COURSE FEES $0 (GST free). Participants will also learn

¡ Atmospheric monitoring and testing (air quality register)

¡ Ventilation (negative and positive)

¡ Purging of a confined space which contains flammable contaminates

¡ Harness, Tripod & Rope Rescue device use, limitations and effectiveness

¡ Isolation (lock-out and tag-out procedures)

¡ Apply basic first aid

¡ Apply basic fire fighting techniques

¡ Exit the confined space according to procedure

¡ Access cover is replaced

¡ Paperwork completed in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements

¡ Ensuring their work area is clean and cleared from materials

¡ Tools and equipment cleaned, checked, maintained and stored appropriately

¡ Barriers and signs are removed
