History of Colorado
• On August 1, 1876 Colorado was admitted to the United States.
• 38th state and earning it the moniker "Centennial State",
because it entered the union in 1876, 100 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Colorado flag
• Designed by Andrew Carlisle Johnson in 1911. The blue stands for the sky and the white stands for the snow capped mountans.

• State population - around 39,864, 1876
• State population - over 5 million, 2011
• Population ranked 22nd in US, around 48.31/sq mi

• The longest set of dinosaur tracks discovered to date is in Picketwire Canyon near La Junta in southeastern Colorado.
• Denver, lays claim to the invention of the cheeseburger. The
trademark for the name Cheeseburger was awarded in 1935 to Louis Ballast
