SURVEY METHODSA total of 504 registered voters in Washington state were interviewed for this survey between December 27-30, 2018. The interviews were conducted by telephone with live interviewers; 51% were conducted via cell phone. The sample was proportional by county. The overall margin of sampling error is ±4.5% with 95% confidence. The margin of error is larger for subgroups. This means that, in theory, had this same survey been conducted 100 times, the results would be within 4.5 percentage points of the results reported here at least 95 times. In addition to sampling error, the practical difficulties of conducting any survey of public opinion may introduce other sources of error into the poll, such as include population coverage, non-response, and question wording.
