Learning Standard: 1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes or sing songs with guidance. 1.2.2 Able to listen to and follow: a) simple instructions in the classroom. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pps. should be able to: 1. Listen, sing and enjoy ‘This Is The Way ’ song. 2. Listen to and act out the actions of a song. 3. Talk about the correct way of washing hands. Activities: 1. Teacher introduces pupils to a video clip of the song (This Is The Way) 2. Teacher asks some questions pertaining to the action in the song and pupils respond. 3. Using the video clip, teacher gets pupils to sing and enjoy the song with actions. 4. Teacher explains to the pupils five steps of washing hands and the importance of washing hands. 5. Teacher says the five steps and pupils act them out. 6. Pupils complete a worksheet with guidance. Learning Standard: 2.1.2 Able to recognize and articulate initial, medial and final sounds in single syllable words within given context /g/ and /o/ 2.2.3 Able to blend two to four phonemes into recognizable words and read them aloud.

Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pps. should be able to:1. Say out the phonemes /g/ and /o/ 2. Blend phonemes into words based on pictures, spell and pronounce correctly.

Activities:1. Teacher shows the letter g to the pupils.2. Teacher says the phoneme /g/ while drawing the letter on the air.3. Teacher repeats steps 1 and 2 to introduce letter o and phoneme /o/.4. Teacher shows picture cards that with the phonemes /g/ and /o/.5. Teacher asks pupils to name out the picture cards and stress the phonemes as the word is said.6. Objectives:By the end of the lesson, pps. should be able to: Arrange and rewrite the sentences on steps of washing hands correctly.

Activities:1. Teacher shows picture cards of the steps of washing hands. 2. Teacher pastes the picture cards on the board and asks pupils to read aloud the steps.3. Teacher drills pupils on the action (wash, rinse, scrub and wipe) . 4. Teacher demonstrates how to wash hands and pupils take turn to wash their hands.5. Teacher reminds pupils on the importance of washing hands correctly. 6. Pupils copy and write neatly the steps to wash hands (TB pg 34) in their exercise books.7.
