INTRODUCTION

Our planet consists of both living and non-living

entities which are dependent on each other. It is

very important to have the right balance betweenthem to prevent a global disaster.

The living components are man, animals, plants

and other micro organisms. The non-living

components are air, water, land [soil, minerals etc]

Animals are one of the most important natural

resources on earth.

HOW ANIMALS ARE USEFUL

TO US Animals are useful to us in many ways:-

They are a source of food for us.

[a] Poultry[eggs] from hen,meat from goat andfishes.

[b] Milk and milk products like butter, cheesecurd,ghee etc. from cows,buffaloes,goats and

camel.Animals like dogs guard our house.

Animals are used for farming and ploughing thefield.

Bullock carts and horses are used fortransportation.

Horses and donkeys are used to carry loads Leather is obtained from animal skin for making

shoes , belts , purses etc.

Wool fur from animals is used to make woolens

which are very warm. Tusk of elephants are used to make ornaments.

They also help in seed dispersal for plants.

They are also part of many food chain and thus arealso important for plants.

CONSERVATION OF

ANIMALS Animals should not be hunted or killed for

pleasure or for our selfish requirements as

they are an important natural resource. Weshould try to save them and prevent the

extinction of many endangered species.

Many projects have been started byU.N.O. to save animals.

CONSERVATION OF

ANIMALS PETA and WWF are some of them.

In India also many Government and Non-

Government organizations are workingtowards conservation of animals.

National Parks and wild life sanctuaries are

made and maintained by the Government tosave and protect animals in their naturalhabitat.

EXTINT AND ENDANGERED

ANIMALS As we know that animals are very important for

us, people these days are killing them for our useand due to extra killing of animals, many of thespecies are extinct and many are endangered.

DinosaursSome endangered animals are

Lion

Tiger
