In Mexico City, on April 26, 1955, Walter Irving established the first company dedicated to the manufacture of grating for industrial flooring in Mexico., Irving, S.A. rapidly became the most important manufacturer of industrial flooring in Mexico.

In 1993, Irving, S.A. was able to further consolidate its position as the leader in the grating business, after buying out the company “Electroforjados Nacionales S.A. de C. V.” which had been founded in Queretaro City in 1972.

This merger gave birth to the most importantcompany in the manufacturing and distribution ofindustrial grating in México. Now, IRVING is part of Harsco Corporation, a Fortune 1000 company. Our vision to expand has pushed us to develop new products and applications. Product DescriptionIRVING smooth welded grating ismade of bar that can vary in width and thickness depending on the load the grating will be subject to, and to the area they will cover. The bars are joined by several cold-processed and cold-cut cross-rods (stiffeners), that forms the shape of a skewed square. The joint between the bar and the cross-rod is achieved by means of an electrowelding process, ensuring the fusion of each joint.

Technical properties and strengthThe width of the bar is determined by the stress it will be exposed to. Thecross-rods strengthen the bar and keep it from buckling and flexing, when loads are placed on it.

Product DescriptionIRVING serrated welded grating has the same features and specifications that smooth welded grating has, except that it is manufactured with serrated bars that provide an antiskid surface

Serrated grating offers maximum protection in slippery areas that help keep shoes, bootsand tires from slipping. They provide better grip in areas prone toe spills.

Product DescriptionIRVING heavy-duty welded grating isdesigned to withstand static or rolling loads. It is used mainly for heavy-duty vehicles, including Airplanes.

Technical properties and strengthIRVING heavy-duty grating has load bars with widths from 50.8 mm (2”) to 101.6 mm (4”) and thicknesses of 6 mm (1/4”), 7.9 mm (5/16”) or 9.5 mm (3/8”). The cross rods used have a diameter of 9.5mm (3/8) to 12.7 mm (½”).

Finishing barsWe recommend the use of finishing bars for grating subject to rolling loads, as well as for heavy-duty grating, because these bars provide better strength and rigidity. The official loads H10, H15, H20 established by the AASTHO* are thebasis for the design of this type of grating.

Product Description

IRVING stainless steel welded grating has thesame design of those made from carbon steel. It is made of bars in varying widths and thicknesses, based on the load it will support, and the area it will cover. The bars are joined by cross-rods (stiffeners). The standard panels are 0.995 x 3.00 m

Technical properties and strength

The stainless steel welded grating ismanufactured in various widths, from 3/4” up to 2 1/2”, and bar thicknesses from 1/8 or 3/16”, and can withstand different types of loads, depending on the bar width.This product is recommended whenboth resistance to corrosion and strengthare of vital.

Resistance to the environment

Because of its composition in T-304 and T-316 stainless steel, this grating offers the maximum resistance to corrosion with no additional coating needed.

The steps are based on the IS-01 and IS-06 type Grating. The steps are made of a front piece made of antiskid plate, and two side fastener plates.For emergency ladders and to allow the use of high-healed footwear, an antiskid plate is added to the top of the step.

Technical Specs

The maximum length of a step is determined by the deflection caused by a 133 kg load concentrated in the center of the step and at a distance of 127 mm from the front. The deflection must not exceed 1/240 of its length.

Applications

Recommended for staircases requiring maximum safety, and for emergency stairs. The antiskid surface helps diminish slips and falls.
