ANUMERICAL DESIGNATION OF SIZE IS COMMON TO
ALL COMPONENTS IN PIPING SYSTEM OTHER THAN
COMPONEMTS DESIGNATED BY OUTSIDE DIAMETERS

* HEAT TREATMENT :-
Tubes shall be supplied the annealed or normalized condition
With the weld zone heat treated or after a hot finishing process
.
* MECHANICAL PROPERTIES *
The mechanical properties at room temperature shall be as given
in table 1((
* APPEARANCE AND SOUNDNESS *
Small imperfection which do not intrude on the minimum
thickness or which can be dressed out such that the thickness
after dressing
remains within the tolerance limit shall be be deemed not to
affect compliance with the standard surface imperfection shall
not be penned7
screw threads shall comply with this requirements of BS 21
except as provided for in joints( (
The ends shall be cut cleanly and nominally square with the
axis of the tub end be free from excessive burrs
. ** THE TUBES SHALL BE STRAIGHT

** The tubes shall not include welds for joining length of strip.
Joints:
ALL screwed tubes and sockets shall be the readied in
accordance with BS 21 except as provided below and except
that an light tubes the length of useful threes shall be reduced
to 80% of that shown in column 12 of table 2 of BS 21 :
1985.
DIMENSIONS AND TOLERANCES:
* Dimensions :
The Dimensions of tubes shall be as given in tables 3,4 and 5.
Dimensions of sockets shall be as given in table 6.

* Tolerances :
The Tolerances on the out side diameter , thickness , mass and
length shall be as follows.
* Outside diameter :
Light tubes as given In table ( 3 )
Medium and heavy tubes as given in table ( 4 , 5 )
** THICKNESS :
Light tubes - 8%
Medium and heavy tubes - 10%
LENGTH**:
1 – MILL LENGTH :- When mill length are required tubes
shall be supplied in lengths of ( 6.4 m ) minimum no tube shall
exceed this length by more than 150 mm.
- 2 APPROXINATE LENGTHS -:
Where approximate lengths are required , either for screwed and
socketed tubes or for plain and tubes.

3 – EXACT LENGTHS :
Where exact lengths are required either for screwed and
socketed tubes or for plain end tubes , each tube shall be within
+ 5 mm of the specified length.
4 – RANDOM LENGTHS :
when random lengths are ordered , tubes shall be supplied in one
of the following ways .
a ) In random lengths from 4 m to 7 m.
b ) for orders of over 150m of any one size of tube → eig . in
random lengths from 4 m to 7 m but including lengths ا
