Parlor UpdateIf you have walked down the adult Sunday schoolhall over the past weeks and peeked into the oldparlor, you might have noticed that our long awaitedrenovation is well underway! Initially, the old flooringwas removed, the bookcases were cleaned off, andthe sliding room partition was removed. In recentweeks, the upper wall separating the kitchen areafrom the rest of the space has been removed and youcan begin to see the new breakfast bar takingshape. Canned lighting in the ceiling illuminateswhat once was a rather dim area. We bid adieu tomost of the furniture that has served us well thesemany decades and it now begins a new chapterhaving been donated to Greer Relief. Painting beganon Monday of this week and new flooring is slated tobe installed as soon as that is completed. Newseating has been ordered and over the next weeks, you will begin to see a new exciting space take form. Thistransformation is due to the dedication of a team that begins with Caleb and the P&O committee. They havebeen committed to this project for years and while their actions may not have seemed overt, they have beenlaying the proper foundation for this extreme makeover for some time. Nancy and Gene Coggin, longtimemembers of JKPC, continue to show their love even after their time here has concluded. A generous gift intheir memory from their son, Mike Coggin and his wife Tanya has funded a majority of these renovations. Their generosity along with financial and spiritual commitment from our Session, have allowed our team todesign a complete project instead of having to do it in phases. Last but not least, many thanks to ourcommittee comprised of Debbie Smith, Jennifer Campbell, Chris Matthews, Miller McClintock, and JeanBaiden. They have invested hours in their dedication to creating a space that not just meets our current needsbut will serve the congregation well for years to come. Be patient through our construction phase - we thinkyou will be pleased with the results!
