Vocabulary Structures ‘Highfrequency’ words and/or phrases are taught as they naturally occur

in spoken or written language.  No assembly required!

Nouns are naturally preceded by a definite or indefinite article.

Verbs are often accompanied by indirect object pronouns.

Verb + infinitive (No isolated infinitives!)  Teach vocabulary as they will most frequently and naturally be heard or read.

Vocabulary is always taught IN CONTEXT!

Ask a story...  Tell a story by asking questions.

 Asking a story is engaging

 Allows for more repetition

Gives students a sense of ‘ownership’ in the lesson

Reading...   Gives students additional repetition of Target Language Structures.

Provides a new context in which to experience the TLS.

Reading material that is 90‐100% comprehensible leads to acquisition.
