Step 2: Posting Your Syllabus and Slides to Blackboard One of the advantages to using Blackboard is you can disseminate material to your class without the hassle of an email. Everything is centralized for you and your students. This will give basic instructions on how to post items on Blackboard. 1. Login in to Blackboard (https://courseware.ku.edu) and navigate to your course. 2. In the left-hand menu, find where you would like your material kept. Assuming you already created a Con- tent Area page titled Syllabus, let s put it there. Select the link title Syllabus. For instruction on how to create a Content Area page, see the handout Step 1: Access Your Blackboard Course and Create Content Areas. 3. Under Build Content , select item.

Step 2: Posting Your Syllabus and Slides to Blackboard

One of the advantages to using Blackboard is you can disseminate material to your class without the hassle of

an email. Everything is centralized for you and your students. This will give basic instructions on how to post

items on Blackboard.

1. Login in to Blackboard (https://courseware.ku.edu) and navigate to your course.

2. In the left-hand menu, find where you would like your material kept. Assuming you already created a Con-

tent Area page titled Syllabus, let’s put it there. Select the link title Syllabus. For instruction on how to create

a Content Area page, see the handout Step 1: Access Y our Blackboard Course and Create Content Areas.

3. Under Build Content, select item.

4. Name your content. In this case, Syllabus. You can add a description in the Text box if you’d like.

5. Continue to scroll down. Upload your content by selecting Browse My Computer under Attachment.

6. Navigate to your document, select it, and hit Open.

7. Unless you are wanting the material to be posted at a later time/date, select Submit.

And now your material is available for your students to read and/or download.

The process would be the same for all types of files including PowerPoints, PDFs, or even multi-media.

To test what your students can and cannot see, click the swirling arrows eye icon at the top right next to the

Edit Mode switch.

To end Student Preview mode, select Exit Preview located on the upper right hand side of the orange bar.
