  • Today we are looking at simple present tense and present progressive tense.

Simple present tense is something that happens regularly or is happening now.

I walk the dog every week.

Present progressive tense is something that you are doing right now that you have been doing or will continue to do for a while.

    I am reading my book.

  • Simple Present Past Present

    walk am walking

    bake am baking

    sit am sitting

    fly am flying

    eat am eating

    skip am skipping

    swim am swimming

‘am’ is used when we are using first person. This can change to ‘is’ or ‘are’ when we are talking about somebody else.

For example: She is skipping. They are swimming.
