Employer: Royal Bank of Scotland Position: IT Projects – Information Delivery Jan 2013 – Feb 2014 Key Achievements: Leadership: Headed team for the COREP project, replacing the appointed Big4 advisory partner. Handover and build of replacement technology and test team achieved within 6 weeks of appointment. Turnaround – Project over spend: Negotiations included diverting FiRST hardware from Oracle Managed Cloud Services (OMCS) to COREP as a fixed price delivery within remaining timeline with backfill to FiRST at later date. Solution enabled £1m+ saving on the original £4m Capex forecast. This saving was re-directed to the Revex costs and effectively covered the over-run of spend. Key Achievements:Leadership: Parachuted in to roadmap financial change across key and global initiatives related to consolidating F2B systems and processes for both traded and non-traded products, and replacement of Oracle Financials with SAP with view to help create an EMEA based Change Management Team. Turnaround: Fast tracked Caseware vendor selection for provision of IFRS reports and iXBRL feeds to UK regulator. Budget $0.5m. Completed within first month of the 6 month project.Technology & Regulation Implementation: Replacement of multiple EMEA based systems with single solution based on partnering vendor system: FRS with the in-house datawarehouse: RegGAE as the trusted source. Forecast budget $4.4m.

Employer: Deutsche Bank Position: Global Financial & Common Regulatory Reporting May 2012 – Jul 2012

Key Achievements:Leadership: Brought in to leverage programme momentum as an Interim lead. Assigned to a €6.5m programme to globally consolidate Capital Requirements Reporting. Turnaround – Operational efficiency: Re-structured team and management meetings to be far fewer and more disciplined; effectively gave team 70% of their time back for actual delivery of their assigned tasks.

Key Achievements:Leadership: Built a team of 4 project managers, 1 Infrastructure manager and PMO. Matrix management of 100+ globally placed technicians (Hong Kong, Singapore, India, UK and USA).Turnaround – Budgetry Improvement: Forecast Technology Budget of $9m but delivered within projected timeline for $7mTechnology & Regulation Implementation: Migration of legacy EMEA & APAC General Ledger systems and processes from an integrated Banking platform called Global Banking System (GBS) onto Oracle Financials and downstream Regulatory, and MI and BI systems.

Employer: Royal Bank of Scotland Position: Group Treasury (GT), Global Banking Markets (GBM) May 2005 – Aug 2010 Multiple projects covering RBS Transformation, and Integration programmes including Ulster Bank and ABN AMRO.

Key Achievements:Leadership: Matrix managed teams of 30+ staff to deliver strategic upgrades to Currency Ledger, Payments, Ovation and Trade Obligation systems to migrate data to GBM’s new Single General Ledger. Mentored and supervised GT project leads to assist and resolve issues to turn their projects around.Turnaround – Operational Efficiency: Within 4 weeks of arrival had initiated and coordinated GT’s data migration from ABN AMRO to be delivered by GBM as a managed service. Achieved for a fixed fee of £2m via significantly downsizing GT programme team to matrix manage delivery. Successfully migrated €50bn of Group Treasury Assets and Liabilities consisting of Deposits, Loans, FX, Repos, Derivatives and Swaps onto centralised platform maintaining compliance and regulatory reporting controls. Technology & Regulation: Replaced EUDA tools with new strategic platforms for Interest Rate Risk Management and Securitisation that provided greater functionality, compliance, accuracy and control for both internal and external risk and regulatory reporting.

Key Achievements:Leadership: Line management of both EMEA and APAC teams providing 24/7 support/maintenance and initiative change eg EMU and Y2K. BCM of CBTO UK entailing 16 Business areas and 332 staff, 80 applications and their underlying infrastructure. Turnaround – Process & Operational Improvement: UK’s BCM methods were taken on as European Best Practice ultimately leading to my role as European Lead in Business Continuity Management.
