Technical Support Specialist
After a successful online application I moved to Australia to work for Integrated Technology Services.
Following my experience from Cardpoint I now provide official technical support for Wincor Nixdorf
and NCR machines, with high focus on Wincor Nixdorf’s ‘Intelligent Deposit Machines’ . This is
coupled with supporting a countrywide network of field technicians.
I have been privileged enough to have been provided with further extensive training from ITS for
complex machine troubleshooting and diagnosis giving me the edge to become a highly skilled and
knowledgeable IDM expert in Australia.
As a support specialist, I provide internal technical support for the team when required. My
experience has allowed for cross training and up-skilling of other junior team members.
Full list of duties include but are not limited to-
Providing technical support over the phone to the ITS's national team of field engineers,
agents, and Bank custodians around Australia.
Installing / upgrading the latest software releases on the ATM computers.
Maintaining a log of the latest service packs available online, based on the operating systems
running on various ATM’s, and making decision on running those service packs and its
associated impact.
Restore backed up data on a new drive if required.
Advanced fault finding, diagnosis and repairs to component level on various ATM brands and
models.
Carry out ATM installation, commissioning, training and project work.
Provide support to technicians / sub-contractors who are unable to resolve a fault on site.
Resolve escalated chronic/major technical issues in conjunction with field engineers.
Diagnose ATM issues and support on site Engineers in resolving these issues.
Attend problem sites when no resolution has been reached by the field engineers on site.
Liaising effectively with internal departments regarding escalations, parts etc.
Liaising and coordinating with external departments to identify chronic network or alarm
related faults.
Develop documentation and procedure guides.
Implementing necessary hardware upgrades.
Install, remove, staging, commissioning, de-commissioning and relocate ATMs and routers.
Ordering and processing of parts for field engineers / sub-contractors.
Creating and maintaining parts matrixes for relevant network / ATM’S.
Perform preventative maintenance and refurbishment of ATMs of all makes and models.
Attend call outs that are allocated from the field service allocators.
Supporting ATM Branch Staff in Fault Finding and Resolution of Problems.
Liaising/assisting with repair center in regards to ATM faults and Fixes.
Responsible to identify and order parts after preparing quotes for all vandalism jobs,
escalate to revenue assurance and order parts accordingly on approvals.
Investigate trends with ATM faults over time and liaise internal departments to implement
fixes
Follow up with service engineers on jobs where further action is required

Senior Technician
I applied at CTS after finding a job vacancy online, mainly as the working conditions were favourable
compared to Sunwin. I quickly became a senior technician due to my natural problem solving
abilities, concentrating on problem sites the other field techs couldn’t resolve. I became an unofficial
specialist here where field technicians from the whole of the UK would call me for advice.

Due to my natural mechanical and electrical abilities I transferred within Sunwin Services to become
an ATM technician. Within months I became regarded as one of the best within the company.

I started with the company learning to be a craftsman building frames completely by hand. Once I’d
perfected this I went on to learn paint spraying and as I have been repairing bicycles since the age of

Hobbies and interests
Having mechanics in my blood (my dad taught car mechanics, my granddad was a truck mechanic for
Volvo UK), from a very young age I fixed my own and friends bicycles, moving onto car mechanics
and tuning in my early teens-, although I have never worked as a mechanic officially I still do this and
MOT level prep work. This includes auto-electrical work including OBD and welding repairs. I am
currently fully restoring a 40 year old car.
I am also an accomplished DIY enthusiast and have done extensive plumbing and electrical work on
my own and friends properties. I have carried out full rewires on some houses with a qualified
electrician and completely renovated 2 properties in the UK doing most of the work myself.
On top of the above I build and repair pc's, laptops and white goods, again self taught, down to
motherboard component replacement. (DC sockets, capacitors etc)
