Today’s backyard isn’t the same as it was thirty years ago. More people are spending time in their backyard living spaces than ever before. This can’t be any truer, than it is in a place like Southern Florida. People are paying attention to detail and that includes the pavement and stones you use near and around your swimming pool. In this week’s blog we highlight some of the surfaces and stones that look incredible, are soft on bare feet and are easy to keep clean.

Infinity Pools offers an interesting point of view with their stepping stones. Floating pieces of concrete or other surface give a contemporary design and compliment the infinity pools really well. This style is something that must be configured when designing your pool. They are very low maintenance for keeping clean and they’ll last forever.

Natural rock steps made out of boulders give a rugged look and

are a fine match with pools that display a grotto or some other

type of cabana. These add a somatic appeal that is an excellent

decorative fixture. However, these are not the most ideal surface

for bare feet. The stones can sometimes have uneven edges that

can cause cuts and scrapes. If you have this type of surface, our

suggestion is to keep your flip-flops on.
