Personal Steve Down has been studying and performing music from a young age. After graduating from the University of Southampton in 2006 with a First Class Honors in Music he has lead a very successful session career having worked with the likes of Leigh Coleman, KT Tunstall, Joss Stone, Jonathan Joseph [Pat Metheny/Ricky Martin], Channel 4, Guy Pratt, The National Theatre, Matthew Scott [Anthony & The Johnsons/Land Girls], BBC, Real World Studios, Keith Emerson, KU records, Sony/BMG, Universal, Chiwawa Records and have performed in UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Other credits include: Marco Migliari [Peter Gabriel/Stereophonics], Finley Quaye, Incognito, Neneh Cherry, Neil Cowley, Breast Cancer Care LTD, Southampton University Jazz Orchestra and Turner Sims Concert Hall.

Aside from his session career he also runs a successful jazz trio, The Swiss, who have been together for 3 years and have just released a second album 'Russell's Teapot' to critical acclaim from Jazz UK, UK Jazz Now, Jazz Journal and more. They have appeared on Jazz FM website and joined Neil Cowley Trio on his UK ‘Radio Silence’ tour. They are currently planning a European tour and a new album due for release in 2012. He is able to play many different genres including R ‘n’ B, funk, rock, blues, soul and pop.
