Purpose- The photograph was taken to show children still had even in the remote areas of the world. This photograph shows a child, bare footed running around through narrow streets, therefore this gives us the intention that the location is a remote and less developed place. This image might be shown in newspaper articles and galleries at display for the public to view it. Moreover, this photograph would be displayed and used to show how life was like for children in poor parts of the world. This would generate income by companies such as Magnum buying to use the image and by being displayed for pay for viewing. It also might be sold to newspaper companies or magazines to display it.

Composition and framing- This photograph is composed well, because the frames have ben positioned as so that the child will be in the middle of the shot. By doing this, our attention goes straight to the child and makes the child stand out. There are many subjects of focus in this shot, one of which is the child. The child has been made a subject of focus, so that the purpose of the shot is made stronger and so that the viewer can acknowledge how the child still continues to play even though there isn’t the best surroundings and neighbourhood. Another subject of focus is the wall on the left with all the children’s handprints printed upon it. This one of the subjects of focus so that the viewer can acknowledge that there is a lot of children in the village and might suggest things such as poverty and high-density settlements, which are not ideal for children. As the subjects of focus arte made as so, we are as the viewer are able to see both the background and the foreground easily and acknowledgeable.

Image Analysis- There is a lot of colour used in the image. This is done so that the colour of the photograph represents the child’s childhood. There are colours in the photograph to represent all the four elements. Furthermore, the colours in the photograph add a good and vibrant atmosphere to the photograph, even though the photograph is set in poor part of the world. The only type of light that can be acknowledged in this photograph is natural lighting, which is coming from towards the front, where the child is running towards. This lighting adds clarity to the image and makes the entire shot brighter and easier to see. Moreover, the lighting also accompanies and compliments the colours in the photograph, as they make the colours stand out more. The lighting has been applied so that the lighting appears to come from the front of the child, where the child is running towards. This is done so that it suggests that the child is running towards a better future and life. The purpose of the subject is to show that the child runs around and plays in whatever environment it must be even in the poor parts of the world. Also, it is to show how the child is affected by poor economy and does not have any good place to play. The costume is used so that we can se tat the child is born in a

working class family and is not very wealthy. This connotes that the child will still carry on his daily playing routine even if there is difference in social classes.

Meaning- The meaning of the image is that social class and wealth does not affect children, they all carry out the same daily activities. Also, that the surroundings and what social class they are born into will not effect their childhood.

Purpose- The purpose of this image was to show how people suffered during the war and were made to be refugees; this is made effective by the use of the torn clothes. Another purpose of this image is to highlight the struggle that refuges had to go through during the wars. This photograph would be displayed in galleries and magazines, so that the public can view the image. It would generate income by being bought by companies such as Magnum to display it and newspaper articles may buy it to also display it in the newspapers.

Composition and framing- This photograph is composed well because the girls face is composed right in the middle frame. This is done to make her face is clear and easily visible by the viewer. This is also done so that the viewer can see and acknowledge her facial expressions clearly. There is no background that is considered and meant to be part of this shot; this is because the purpose of the shot is to solely focus on the girl and her facial expression. The subject of focus is the girl and she is made the subject of focus to show her facial expressions and to make her expressions visible and acknowledgeable.

Image analysis- There is basic colour used in the photograph. The colour of the robes of the girl and the green background is the main colours used and the only ones that have a purpose. There are not many colours used in this photograph because the purpose and sole focus is to make the face of the girl clear and visible. By using basic colours the facial expressions of the girl are directed towards us. The green is emerging from the rips in the girls’ clothes, which suggest that she is fading into the background and to connote that no one cares about what happens in the world to refugees. The eyes of the girl are dilated and focused upon intensively; this suggests anger and frustration by the girl. Also, the colour of her pupil is green, which further expands the idea of her fading into the background. The subject of focus is the girls face and this is the only and sole focus of the photograph. This is done to make the girls’ look of facial expression more striking and intense. There is only natural lighting use in this photograph, which is coming from the direction of the photographer. This lighting light up the face of the girl makes the entire shot more visible.

Meaning- the meaning of this photograph is to show that no one cares about refuges in the world and what they go through on a daily basis. This is made more effective by the use of the green rips and the intentions that she is fading into the background.
