Lunchbags for the Homeless – our turn for this wonderful initiative has come around again. Following the superb response last time we will be distributing the empty bags the weekend of 21st/22nd December. Please fill the bags and indicate what type of sandwich has been provided (only bought sandwiches please). The bags will be collected in on the 28th/29th December for distribution through the Eden Gate Sunday Munch Club.

St Mary’s S.V.P. meeting will be on Monday 16th December at 10.30am.

The next meeting of the St. David’s SVP conference will be on Tuesday 7th January 2020 at 5:15pm in the sacristy. The SVP Christmas Party will be on Saturday 11th January 2020 2:30pm - 7:30pm at the Maesglas Community Centre. Coach leaving Highfield Road at 2pm. Tickets available from SVP members.

Prayer & Worship The last Prayer Group session for this year in St. David Lewis will be held on Friday 13th December 2019, and will resume on Tuesday 7th January 2020. All are welcome to attend these sessions. St. Anne’s Tuesday Devotions and Tuesday Club have now broken up for the Christmas period. They will recommence on Tuesday January 7th 2020.

PLEASE NOTE The Charismatic Prayer group meeting on the 18th December at St. Gabriel’s Church, Ringland is CANCELLED. The group will restart on the 15th January 2020. Thereafter on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of every month. 7.30 pm start. If you are interested in joining, please leave your details with the parish office.

St. Paul’s Missal for 2020 are now available at £5.95, in St. Mary’s Piety shop or give your order to one of the clergy after Mass.

CHRISTMAS POINSETTIA - Very soon it will be Christmas, and once again we request you to please provide pots of Poinsettias to be placed in all our churches in remembrance of our dear departed. We would appreciate if the pots are delivered to churches after Masses NEXT WEEKEND. However, St Mary’s are asked to bring their Poinsettias by Monday 16th December, 3.00pm, ready for the Lessons & Carols evening.

JESUS HEALS – We are delighted to announce that St. Mary’s will play host to a morning of Healing Ministry on Monday 30th December lead by Fr. Jilto George CMI. Entitled “Jesus Heals” the event will begin at 10:00am and last approximately 3 hours. It will begin with a Healing Mass and offer preaching and Healing Adoration. Come experience the healing touch of Christ!

Sr. Justina Morrin

Christmas and a new calendar year is often a time of change. After many, many years of devoted service in the St. David Lewis community, Sr. Justina has decided to step down as parish sister there, although she will continue with some work around All Saints on a smaller scale. We thank her for the incredible, and often unnoticed, service she has given to the parish as a whole – a true witness of self-giving. Her gentleness and generosity have been evident to see. We will have a Mass of thanksgiving for her at some point in the near future. In the meantime, we assure her of our continued prayers.

Sacrament of Reconciliation – Saturday 21st

One of the best ways to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ at Christmas is through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the Sacrament of encounter with God’s mercy. This will be available between 10.30am and 4.15pm on Saturday 21st at St. Mary’s, in addition to the usual times around the churches.

An Evening of Lessons & Carols

Monday 16th December at 7.00pm at St. Mary’s, with children from our primary schools singing, followed by mince pies and mulled wine in the institute.

member of the Pastoral Team.
