Stewardship Reflections

Christian stewardship begins with the call to discipleship and in today’s Gospel we discover

those first individuals who sought out Jesus and wanted to listen to him, learn from him and

stay with him. Today, Christian stewards search out the hidden presence of Jesus in their

own lives every day. They know Christ is the “Messiah” who will one day bring about a

perfect restoration to a troubled world. They further understand that they are sacraments of

his hidden presence in the world. Their task is to make that reality known through their own

words and actions. What is one thing we can do to be better stewards of Christ’s life in us?

Intercession: That we take time, every day, talking to God, praising Him, thanking Him

and asking for His guidance.

INTERNATIONAL WEEK OF

PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN

UNITY

"YOUR RIGHT HAND, O LORD, GLORIOUS IN POWER."

(EXODUS 15:6)

January 18-25, 2018 is the annual observance of

the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The

theme chosen for 2018 is “Your Right Hand, O

Lord, Glorious in Power” (Exodus 15:6).

Throughout 2018, join Christians everywhere in

praying “that they may all be one” joining our

prayer with that of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity has a history of over 100 years . .

. , in which Christians around the world have taken part in an octave of

prayer for visible Christian unity. By annually observing the WPCU,

Christians move toward the fulfillment of Jesus' prayer at the Last Supper

"that they all may be one." (cf. John 17:21)

PRAYER

O God, your right hand is glorious in power. Extend your hand to help us

discover new ways that unite your people in the Body of Christ, the Church.

May the strength of your hand take away all misunderstanding and prejudice

that hinder our calling to be one in body and spirit. Draw us together in the

bond of peace, of faith and charity that we may be one in Jesus Christ our

Lord who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God

for ever and ever. Amen.
