2015 ANNUAL REPORT

A Message from

Two Milestones in 2016

The Eager family celebrates 100 years of community banking in 2016! Gertrude Eager purchased Grange Bank in 1916 for her son, Leonard, to operate. The bank would be renamed Union Bank & Trust Company 24 years later, when Trust services were added to its portfolio.

Banking has changed considerably over the last century, and UB&T continues to expand and evolve right along with it. But even with all of the modern advances and conveniences of today’s banking world – changes we’ve enthusiastically embraced – our commitment to relationships and communities has never wavered.

There is a second significant milestone occurring in 2016: the 150th anniversary of the City of Evansville, the birthplace of the bank and our original “hometown.” As one of Evansville’s early corporate citizens, UB&T is honored to join this yearlong celebration of “History In Motion.”

We invite you to stay up-to-date on all the celebrations surrounding these milestones on the UB&T website and Facebook page!

Still Growing TogetherCelebrating a Century of

Eager Family Community Banking

2015 proved to be a year of many changes for UB&T. While some changes were exciting and new, others were felt with heavy hearts. Not only myself but also the Board of Directors and staff felt the absence of my father, Alan S. Eager. His presence around the bank is greatly missed.

Just as my father would have wanted it, we continue to put our customers first by opening a Loan Production office on the Far East Side of Janesville in June. This expansion is yet another testament to our commitment to the agribusiness industry in Southern Wisconsin.

Another expansion that I am proud of is our internship program. In 2015, we had two student internship positions in IT and Ag. The program proved successful, as we have since hired both interns full-time after they graduated. I’m hopeful we will be able to continue to show younger generations that community banking is a wonderful career choice.

Along with staff growth, we also saw loan growth. I feel we have our finger on the pulse of the local communities, with our eyes at ground level helping small business owners, growing families and first-time home buyers. I’m immensely proud of our 68 employees and all they do to make our customers’ experience great.

Of course, the economy was on everyone’s mind in 2015. Finally in December, we saw the predictions become reality as the Federal Reserve raised rates off of zero. Many community bankers, such as myself, welcomed the small adjustment.

Looking forward, 2016 will be a great year as we celebrate 100 years of Eager family community banking! We couldn’t have done it without your partnership, so thank you to our loyal customers and thanks to the UB&T team for your continued dedication.

Sincerely, STEVE EAGER
