The Vessel
Designed to meet DNV Stimulation Vessel Class certification and to operate in any area of the globe, Stimwell’s
Island Patriot represents a step-change in vessel design philosophy.
Carrying capacity
Carrying 2,500,000 lbs of proppant, the vessel has been built to complete the majority of horizontal, multi-zone
propped fracture treatments in a single mobilisation. Freshwater capacity is in excess of 280,000 usg with ship-to-
ship or installation-to-ship transfer equipment incorporated for in-field loading. Liquid Gel Concentrate storage is set
at 27,000 usg allowing the vessel to theoretically pump 2.5 million usg of 40lb gel in one mobilisation.
Acid stimulation
An acid-carrying capacity of 160,000 usg 34% HCl allows the vessel to effectively pump 195,000 usg 28% or 380,000
usg 15% HCl in one mobilisation. The aft proppant tanks have been designed to be removed, allowing the vessel
acid-carrying capacity to be effectively doubled should a customer perceive a need.
Proven Stimulation Equipment
Pumping and blending equipment has been fabricated from Stewart & Stevenson’s range of state-of-the-art proven
fracturing equipment and comprise 6 ea Model FS-2251-SW skid-mounted fracturing units, a Model MS-60-SS, 60
bpm automatic density skid mounted blender and 3 x 6 pump, skid mounted Chemical Additive Units. All are
controlled by Stewart & Stevenson’s Accufrac control and interface system.
Health, Safety and the environment
The vessel will operate to the highest standards of Health and Safety and in addition, has been designed for zero
discharge. There is provision to recycle any proppant returned from the well on clean-out and the full portfolio of
Stimwell’s acidizing and proppant fracturing chemicals have been registered for use in all four sectors of the North
Sea.

Experienced Personnel
The core-team used to design and build the vessel consisted of experienced stimulation vessel personnel, taken from
managerial and operational disciplines and primarily North Sea. Additional experienced crew have been added
through the build-process leading to the full structure represented below.
Research & Development
Stimwell has a deep commitment to re-invest in research and development and intends to become a market leader in
technical excellence.
Availability
The vessel will be available for general use from mid 2010 with a 6 month maximum period for prior booking.
