1 Area of application and descriptionThe stirrers are used to mix solutions up to a viscosity of 500mPas. The stirrers are available in two different materials, stainlesssteel and stainless steel with PVDF coating, to adapt the parts thatcome into contact with the media to the chemical substances. The stirrers can be ordered and delivered separately, but alsotogether with ProMinent® PE storage tanks. The 0.02 kW, 0.18 kW und 0.25 kW electric motors are operated 1-phase at 230 VAC. The 0.75 kW stirrer is operated 3-phase.

tion. It does not indicate a hazardous or dam‐aging situation.
2.2 General safety notes
WARNING!Danger from hazardous substances!Possible consequence: Fatal or very serious inju‐ries. Please ensure when handling hazardous sub‐stances that you have read the latest safety datasheets provided by the manufacture of the haz‐ardous substance. The actions required aredescribed in the safety data sheet. Check thesafety data sheet regularly and replace, if neces‐sary, as the hazard potential of a substance can bere-evaluated at any time based on new findings. The system operator is responsible for ensuringthat these safety data sheets are available and thatthey are kept up to date, as well as for producingan associated hazard assessment for the worksta‐tions affected.
WARNING!Live partsPossible consequence: Fatal or very serious inju‐ries– Measure: Disconnect the device from the
power supply before opening the housing– Disconnect damaged and defective devices or
devices that have been tampered with and pre‐vent unintended start-up
WARNING!Unauthorised accessPossible consequence: Fatal or very serious inju‐ries.– Measure: Ensure that there can be no unau‐
thorised access to the device

WARNING!Operating errors!Possible consequence: Fatal or very serious inju‐ries.– The device should only be operated by ade‐
quately qualified and technically expert per‐sonnel
– Please also observe the operating instructionsfor any other units, such as pumps, sensors, sample water pumps ...
– The operator is responsible for ensuring thatpersonnel are qualified
CAUTION!Correct and proper useDamage to the product or its surroundings– The device is not intended to handle gaseous,
solid or flammable media– Only use the device in accordance with the
technical data and specifications provided inthese operating instructions and in the oper‐ating instructions for the individual components
2.3 Intended use
NOTICE!Intended useThe stirrers are used to mix solutions up to a vis‐cosity of 500 mPas. The stirrers are available intwo different materials, stainless steel and stain‐less steel with a PVDF coating, to adapt the partsthat come into contact with the media to the chem‐ical substances.Only use the device in accordance with the tech‐nical data and specifications provided in theseoperating instructions and in the operating instruc‐tions for the individual components (such as sen‐sors, fittings, calibration devices, metering pumps, storage tanks etc.).All other uses or modifications are prohibited.

2.4 Users' qualifications
WARNING!Danger of injury with inadequately qualified per‐sonnel! The operator of the plant / device is responsible forensuring that the qualifications are fulfilled. If inadequately qualified personnel work on the unitor loiter in the hazard zone of the unit, this couldresult in dangers that could cause serious injuriesand material damage.– All work on the unit should therefore only be
conducted by qualified personnel.– Unqualified personnel should be kept away
from the hazard zone
Training Definition
Instructed personnel An instructed person is deemed to be a person who has been instructed and,if required, trained in the tasks assigned to him/her and possible dangers thatcould result from improper behaviour, as well as having been instructed in therequired protective equipment and protective measures.
Trained user A trained user is a person who fulfils the requirements made of an instructedperson and who has also received additional training specific to the systemfrom ProMinent or another authorised distribution partner.
Trained qualified per‐sonnel
A qualified employee is deemed to be a person who is able to assess thetasks assigned to him and recognize possible hazards based on his/hertraining, knowledge and experience, as well as knowledge of pertinent regula‐tions. The assessment of a person's technical training can also be based onseveral years of work in the relevant field.
Electrician Electricians are deemed to be people, who are able to complete work on elec‐trical systems and recognize and avoid possible hazards independently basedon his/her technical training and experience, as well as knowledge of pertinentstandards and regulations.Electricians should be specifically trained for the working environment inwhich the are employed and know the relevant standards and regulations.Electricians must comply with the provisions of the applicable statutory direc‐tives on accident prevention.
Customer Service depart‐ment
Customer Service department refers to service technicians, who havereceived proven training and have been authorised by ProMinent to work onthe system.
Note for the system operatorThe pertinent accident prevention regulations, aswell as all other generally acknowledged safetyregulations, must be adhered to!

sonnel, see Ä Chapter 2.4 „Users' qualifications“ on page 9n User qualifications, electrical installation: Electrical technician,
see Ä Chapter 2.4 „Users' qualifications“ on page 9
WARNING!Danger of an electric shock– Only electrical technicians may electrically
install stirrers!– Only install the stirrers if the system is discon‐
nected from the mains and secured to preventit from being switched back on
– Only connect the motor to the mains voltageand frequency specified on its nameplate
CAUTION!Thermal overloading– The stirrer motors can be damaged by thermal
overloading– Provide an appropriate motor protection device
(e.g. motor protection switch with thermal over‐current trip) to protect the motor against over‐loading– Fuses do not provide motor protection
Only operate the stirrers with a motor protectionswitch or another appropriate protection device.
Observe the following points when assembling the stirrers:n On receipt of the product: Compare the data on the nameplate
with the data on the delivery noten Installation: Place the motor flange on the storage tank flange
and screw both together. Only install the stirrers vertically witha maximum 20° deviation from the vertical axis.
n Electrical connection: Only connect the motor to the mainsvoltage and frequency specified on the nameplate. Additionallyfuse the outgoing circuit via a motor protection switch oranother appropriate protection device.
n A wiring diagram is located in the terminal box.n Switch the system on briefly to determine the direction of rota‐
tion of the motor (arrow on the motor housing)If the motor is rotating in the incorrect direction, immediatelyfully disconnect the system from the power supply and thenconnect the motor correctly.

CAUTION!Risk of injury from rotating propellersSlight or minor injuries.– Do not electrically install the stirrers until they
have been assembled in their operating posi‐tion
– Only operate the stirrer when you haveensured that the propellers can cause nodanger
– Switch off the system and only then removethe screwed cover of an inspection openingetc.
CAUTION!Rotating partsConsequence: injuries to hands and arms forexampleMeasure: Never remove the lid of the storage tankand do not reach into the unprotected stirring areawhen the device is running.
Only use the stirrers supplied for the intended pur‐pose. Any other use or impermissible installation, such as installation in rooms at risk of explosion, isnot permitted.
Fill the storage tank to approx. 20 cm above the propellers beforeswitching on the stirrers.
n User qualification: operation instructed personnel, seeÄ Chapter 2.4 „Users' qualifications“ on page 9
The stirrer is fully integrated into the system provided by the cus‐tomer and is then controlled from this system. It is not possible tooperate the stirrer directly.
