The Vicarage gardens were open throughout the second week in June. Saturday 10th students from the Guildhall performed a Mozart quartet and a local Jazz band played well into the evening as part of the Pocket Prom. On Sunday over 250 visited as part of the National Garden Scheme. The weather was perfect for both events but special thanks to all those who helped with the refreshments for the NGS event and special thanks to those who so generously donated huge quantities of (Hummingbird) cake). Altogether we raised £500 just from refreshments! This will go towards the upkeep of Arlington Square. A further £1550, received in gate money, will go to various cancer charities. We also got see two week old twins Karen and Holly Pinder on one of their first outings with their Dad Matt.

Volunteers for Pack-Up We need help with our Monday lunch club forthe street community. Held in the Hall, we needhelp from 11.30 to 1.30pm especially over thesummer.

Islington PromsThe sudden death of Anthony Hill last year left a very large hole inthe life of our parish and to celebrate his first anniversary, the JulyProm is a piano recital. This is very appropriate as he was a pianoteacher form over 35years at Bishop Stortford College and it wasAnthony who found our Bechstein grand piano for us four years ago.The recital is being given by Yoon Chung, a young Korean pianistwho has already produced his first CD of music by Brahms. Thepicture shows the newly expanded Islington Proms Committee asthey make plans for the rest of the 2017 season.
