Stoke-on-Trent is a unique city affectionately known as The Potteries. With its rich industrial heritage it has respectfully claimed the title of World Capital of Ceramics. The city boasts many visitor centres, award winning museums, over 20 pottery factory shops and the exclusive Staffordshire Hoard. Come and visit the Trentham Estate with its Italian Gardens, Shopping Village, Monkey Forest, Aerial Extreme and mile long lake. We are also the closest city to Alton Towers theme park. A day will not be enough! The city is located less than an hour from Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool and only one and a half hours from London Euston by train.

The history and heritage of Stoke-on-Trent is well preserved at many of the city’s attractions. Factory tours, outstanding visitor centres and museums, and the chance to try your hand at the potter’s wheel mean you’ll have an entertaining insight into the history and tradition, and the modern day industry of a time-honoured craft.

And of course, a trip to The Potteries wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of our many factory shops and outlets which present exclusive opportunities to browse and buy exquisite pieces at special prices from a huge collection of china on offer.

Stoke-on-Trent is the World Capital of Ceramics. The city has been shaped by its production of pottery for centuries, building a city with a globally renowned reputation and history of innovation, science, art, culture, and entrepreneurialism.
