Allen EL PASO NAME CHARGED Date/Time: 12/16/09 @ 4:55 p.m. Location: 6070 Gateway East Arrested: 24 year old, Lee James CARRETO, 1000 block of Gran Cima, El Paso, TX Vehicle: 2002 gray Nissan Altima EL PASO, TEXAS – Officers from Auto Theft Task Force charge one man and recover a stolen vehicle. Just before 5 p.m. Wednesday Auto Theft Investigators were checking a suspicious vehicle and James Lee CARRETO at 6070 Gateway East. The ensuing investigation revealed that CARRETO had taken a 2002 Nissan Altima from the owner on December 2, 2009 and never returned the vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen on 12/02/2009. CARRETO was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Identify (Fugitive from Justice) and Execution of 8 traffic warrants. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail and the vehicle has been recovered. ### AS OF DECEMBER 12, 2009 AUTO THEFTS ON DOWN 32% IN EL PASO AS COMPARED TO 2008.
