ROOM 115 – CLASS NEWSWHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?In math this week, we continued to
practice for the MCA test and review important
concepts from this year.
We also began our new IB Unit of
Inquiry titled Environments. The central idea of this planner is that all living things depend on
the conditions in their environment. This week
discussed living and non-living things. We also
talked about the four basic needs of all living
things. Students began learning about different
environments found all over the world –
including oceans, deserts, rainforests, and coral
reefs.
We also started our final book club of
the year. Our class is reading the book Hatchetby Gary Paulsen. This adventurous book about
outdoor survival fits right in with our
Environments planner. Please note that there
may be some days where students have
homework for this book club.
Next week, we finish up most of our
testing and prepare for our camp trip. Have a
great weekend and a Happy Mother’s Day!
