Challenge• Two fires merged into “complex”

management in different states & under two different coordination centers

• Travel / logistical support distance between ICP and Laurel Falls Fire

• Fires burning in three different federal jurisdictions

• First team assignment without Wilder• Quick ramp up & ramp down

Actions• Had to reconcile IA/EA resource orders.

Had to reconcile accts. Had to continue to order thru 2 Coordination Centers, but “receive & distribute” as appropriate.

• Remote hotel spike camp and base. Separate briefings stretched C&G capability. Would have had to make changes if it didn’t rain.

• Recognized need for and obtained Del of Authority from Cherokee Agency, Great Smoky Mtns NP and Blue Ridge Parkway.

• Experienced and professional teamwork!!• Maintained good coordination with SACC,

TN and NC Coordination Centers

Great Short Assignment
