NEW JERSEY RESIDENT'S NATIONAL, "STOP BULLYING CAMPAIGN" VISITSMOUNT HOLLY, NJ'S F. W. HOLBEIN SCHOOL
NEW YORK--Edison, New Jersey resident Sensei John P. Mirrione and his top-
ranked Harmony by Karate school's national, Stop Bullying Campaign andSchool Assembly (www.harmonybykarate.com/antibully.htm) on Tuesdayafternoon, June 14, 2011, visited Mount Holly, NJ's F. W. Holbein School
(http://www.mtholly.k12.nj.us/Holbein.cfm?subpage=347738 ). The renownedkarate, fitness and spiritual expert shared with Holbein's sixth- through eighth-grade
students that at eight years old he was hurt badly by a bully, but his newly createdCampaign will motivate Americans to take control of this crisis. As of January 2011, the
United States' toughest anti-bullying law was put into effect in New Jersey. Yet in February2011 according to news reports, nearby, 7 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-area (Upper Darby)
teenagers were arrested in connection with the "outrageous" videotaped bullying and
beating of another teenager.
Sensei John Mirrione's year-long, national, public-awareness and philanthropic effort, designed to support anti-bullying causes, is endorsed by WABC-TV in New York City and was
launched December 15, 2010 at Chicago, Illinois' Nettelhorst Elementary School(www.nettelhorst.org ). Nettelhorst has since adopted the Campaign book PHILOSOPHY OFTHE WEEK (www.harmonybykarate.com/order.html) into its curriculum. And recently, the
Campaign's visit was front-page news on the Washington, DC, Public School Board'sWebsite as well as prominently featured in Oprah Radio, CBS-TV and AOL news coverage.
"Stop!" Policy
During each of the 9, Stop Bullying Assemblies (in cities from Greenwich to San Diego),Sensei John Mirrione shares a peaceful technique with school children struggling to cope
with their own conflicts: When a conflict arises, the victim and also bystanders should stand
up and say something as simple as, "Stop!" Mirrione feels that bullies are victims too, andfighting is their way of expressing pain. Bullying, he says, is a means of controlling another
person. Shouting "Stop!" or another command empowers the victim and draws attention to
the situation so that others can intervene. Mirrione recommends that this simple approachbe implemented in schools nationwide.

Building Inner Strength
In addition to explaining his "Stop!" Policy, Sensei John also shares with school children his
inspiring story and teaches them about building inner strength through interactivemovement and dialogue, meditation and philosophy. His book PHILOSOPHY OF THE WEEKis used as an inner-guide, Campaign tool, in order to teach self-empowerment
to young people.
To demonstrate how inner strength can enhance all endeavors, at each Stop
Bullying Assembly Sensei John will perform very slowly a single, one-arm, bare-knuckle push-up on a stone slab--something few in the world are able to do (see
his demonstration videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBihBYJjNpE). What's more,Sensei John's push-up performance will move Americans to address a growing concern:
Sensei John himself as a tribute to each Campaign push-up performance will donate his
services to auctions of New York City charities that empower children. As Sensei Johndemonstrates an amazing, spiritual feat of strength, he will encourage everyone to
do at least one amazing act for another person or charity, such as an anti-bullyingor child empowerment charity.
Amazing Acts
Ultimately, to conclude the inaugural year of his Stop Bullying Campaign in September2011, Sensei John is scheduled to appear on LIVE WITH REGIS & KELLY to break theWorld's Record for the slowest, one-arm, bare-knuckle push-up performed on a stone
block. And as a tribute to this push-up, donations to charities that empower children andother acts of service to individuals or charities will be made.
Sensei John is founding director of Reebok Sports Club/NY's Harmony by Karate program,
one of America's leading martial-arts schools, acclaimed for its focus on inner strength, unique philosophy and confidence building.
