How did this task enable you to be creative?

Building narrative

I didn't find building my narrative difficult as there are clear set rules to snake and so I made sure that I followed those rules and chose to make the game easy so that it showed the person playing the game was rubbish and would lose.

How did you decide what to use?

I didn't have much choice on my resources as I was in college at the time and so only had the simple resources of card, pens and pins. These resources also helped me decide on my narrative as they are limited and the game is a simple game. I also was able to borrow a tri-pod and camera which helped me take the photos effectively so that the camera didn't shake. I decided on using green card to make the snake as it made it stand out against the plain background. I used the pin as the food as it again was bold and clear to see. I pinned the background card onto the wall so that it didn't move position. I also cello taped the snake to the background so that it didn't fall off or move position which would have effected the realistic element to the movement.

Drafting. How many ideas did you have?

I had many ideas when deciding on my narrative. However ideas such as stick men were in practical and time consuming so I didn't chose them. I also wanted to stick to something that everyone could relate to and was fun so I based it on the game, snake.

Did you work with someone?

I didn't work with anyone else as because I had attached my back drop to the wall with pins and my snake was attached to the wall as well I didn't need my hands to hold them in place and so was able to leave them, with no risk of them moving position. This enabled me to use the camera and tri-pod effectively and on my own without the help of others.

Were there any limits in term to times, limits of resources?

I had time limits as I was working in college study periods and so only had an hour to make all my different lengths of snakes, reposition them and take pictures. The making and measuring of the snakes took time as I had to make it look as realistic as possible. Also there was a high demand for cameras and so I only had them for a limited amount of time. This simplified my animation as I had to rush and just work with what I had, meaning that some of my photos are out of focus, as I couldn't take the time as I usually would.
