OBEY GOD

AND LEAVE THE CONSEQUENCES TO HIM

John 14:2424 He who does not love me will not obey my

teaching.

What stops us being obedient?

1. Dabbling

Dabble: to paddle, play or splash in

the water.

Psalm 88:9

David says “I call daily to you”

 

2. Plateau - ing

Deuteronomy 8:2 (NIV) 2 Remember how the Lord your God led you all

the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you

would keep his commands.

3. Frantic Pace of Life‘If you don’t confront

the frantic pace of your life, it will hunt you down, run you

over and then dance on your grave.’

OBEDIENCE LOOKS LIKE:

1. Obedience obeys whatever God tells you to do. We don’t seek to negotiate over the will of

God but ask for strength to obey the will of God. “do whatever He tells you”

 

2. Obedient followers do not aim to accumulate more and more knowledge but aim to do what they already know to be true. “he who hears my words and puts them into practice is like the man who builds His house on the rock!”

 

3. Obedience needs boldness, courage and risk! When this is done, I will go to the king,

even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish."

 

4. Obedience to Jesus and His commands is a lifestyle, a way of life “If you love me, you will

obey what I command

 

5. Obedience is responding to the presence of God. Obedience is the single key that unlocks

miracles, supernatural activity and heaven coming to earth. Acts is one long story of

obedience

 

6. Loving God makes it possible to obey Him, obeying Him makes it possible for God to send

His Holy Spirit.

John 14:23 (NIV) 23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father

will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

 

7. Obedience is the fruit of humility. Disobedience is pride!
