SHOT 1

To stick to conventions the initial shot will be establishing long shot of the character riding his bike through a field. Note that the weather conditions will be bright and sunny to represent the equilibrium of the opening scene (Levi Strauss Linear Theory). This shot will last for about 4 seconds and the camera will stay still (mounted on a tripod). There will most likely be some non-diegetic calm soundtrack playing in the background to further support this peaceful equilibrium.

Page 3: Storyboard 2.0

SHOT 2

The second shot is a POV shot of the victim travelling along at some speed to create an element of intensity and action. This footage will be shot on a GoPro most likely which will be attached to the actor’s head. In contrast this shot will contain the diegetic sound of the bike. The audio and visuals of this shot should create an enigma that something in the narrative is going to happen to destroy this equilibrium. This shot will last between 3-5 seconds.

SHOT 3

In this shot the background will be out of focus, whilst the subject, in the foreground will be focus. I also have paid attention to the rule of 3’s when positioning this shot, so that the audience doesn’t think that it is too surreal. I believe that is important for the audience to see a detailed image of the victim, so that they create a synthetic relationship with him. This shot will contain distorted diegetic sounds from the bike.. This shot will last around 4 seconds so that the audience time to encode the facial features of the victim

SHOT 6

During the next shot some time will have passed and the first character is now in a a dark and gloomy forest. This shot is a POV shot to hopefully create tension for the audience as the woods is a conventional spooky place to be riding a bike through. This scene will contain some slow, spooky music and will last approximately 3 seconds.

SHOT 7

This shot will be a close-up crab of the front wheel slowing down. This will be an enigma as the audience won’t be able to see why he’s slowing down. This show will contain non-diegetic sound of a bike’s brake squealing. This shot will last around 4 seconds to build the climax up.

Page 9: Storyboard 2.0

SHOT 8

Shot 8 is a close-up of the antagonist looking at the cyclist from behind the tree. In the actual shot the murderer will wear shades to hide his identity and create enmity. This means the identity of the villain will be unknown throughout the film, until the end. This shot will include the sound from the spooky soundtrack in Shot 6 and last an estimated time of 2 seconds to help with fluidity.

SHOT 9

The angle of this shot will be a high angle long shot with the bushes and cyclist in frame. The high angle should make the subject look small, which will represent that he is losing power. It will contain the same soundtrack as the last shot and will last about 3 seconds.

SHOT 10

These shots will be shown in quick succession and will show the character discovering a corpse and the reaction that he has too it (panic and shock). This scene will contain the noises created by the actor and each shot will only last for one second to create a quick pace.

SHOT 11

This an other the shoulder shot and the only shot which will contain some dialogue, something along the lines of “You shouldn’t of come here boy.” This scene will last for about 3 seconds and will contain the diegetic sound from environment and dialogue.

Page 13: Storyboard 2.0

SHOT 12

This shot is a medium shot of the murderer’s torso and a hand holding a knife. The protagonist will begin to move forward in aggressive way and then it will cut to the tile scene, where the audience will be able to hear the scream of the boy. This shot will last for two seconds and contain only diegetic sound.
