Storytelling week Project Kinder 4 2015 June 29, 30 and July 1st Project Background The aim of this Project is to tell stories that will appeal to the learners’ imagination, increase motivation and create a rich and meaningful context. Our work will involve: The developing of listening skills The acquisition of new vocabulary The development of the child’s literary competence The communicative exchange involved in stories Motivation Stimulation and development of the imagination. And the list continues… Remember: Children love listening to the same stories over and over again, seize the opportunity and exploit the material! During the first or second lesson Belén will go to your lessons and lead the Storytelling session. Miss Vane will be working on...THE THREE LITTLE PIGS. Miss Belén will be working on...GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS??? Miss Vivi will be working on... Storytelling/Storyreading techniques: Before telling the story: AAA Activate/Arouse/Arrange Pre listening activities/Storytelling time Show them pictures of the characters/place where the story takes place.

Storytelling/Storyreading techniques:

Before telling the story: AAAActivate/Arouse/Arrange Pre listening activities/Storytelling time Show them pictures of the characters/place where the story takes place. Before reading a story: AAA andPrediction/Covers/Illustrations DURING storytelling itself Show off, use body language. Trigger students imaginationOffer consistent characters, be careful with voices Read their faces and adapt vocabulary You should be involved in it, like it. Trust yourself, do not force reactions Enjoy the story and the audience! Look into their eyes Leave room for their imagination Improvise and dance your story No rush, pace your rhythm Give them time to reflect upon it!
