A Voyage in Faith and Learning Dear Parents,
The second week of school is almost complete and it has been another terrific week! The students are nicely settling in to the routines of the school day. It is a joy to see them so enthusiastic about learning.
This week at Monday Morning Muster, Mrs. Bricher, our religion specialist, introduced the catechetical theme for the year. The theme is “Follow God’s Salvation Road.” Utilizing this year’s auction focus of “There’s No Place like St. Paul”, and inspired by the classic American fairy tale, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, we will explore how we can journey our individual roads to lead us to God. Included in this edition of the Voyager are the full details of the catechetical theme for the year. This information will be shared with students at Monday Morning Musters throughout the year. Please feel welcome to join us each or any Monday to pray with us and hear about the week ahead.
Last year, the Archdiocese of Portland encouraged all of its churches and schools to utilize the company, eCatholic, to host and develop our websites. During the summer months a great deal of time was spent updating our school website and I am happy to share that we have officially launched this new site.

Please visit it at www.saintpaul-school.org. Our goal is to have a website that shares useful information with our current families and be a resource for potential new families. The new platform is much more user friendly for staff to update information, download documents, and share current events happening at the school. It is also mobile friendly. I hope you find the new website helpful.
The students were very excited in the gym this afternoon as we had an assembly to officially kick off the 45th annual St. Paul Parish School Magazine Drive. Our goal is to reach $40,000 in magazine sales. All the money raised goes directly to the general operating budget to support various programs at school. The money raised helps offset the cost of tuition and the actual cost of educating a child at St. Paul. Thank you to everyone who completed Reach Out Booklets. Seventh grade student, Jordan Foster, won the drawing for “Principal for the Day”! Congrats, Jordan!
Please remember to mark your calendars for next Tuesday evening when we host “Curriculum Night”. The evening begins at 6:30 when all are invited to meet in the gym where I will share some key information about the school year. Then, there will be breakout sessions in which classroom teachers will give presentations to parents about the specifics of their respective grade levels. I hope you can join us for this special night as we partner with you in the ministry of educating your child.
In Christ’s Peace, Kelli Braud

FOLLOW GOD’S SALVATION ROAD St. Paul Parish School Catechetical Theme 2017-18
The most important decision each person can make in life is to accept God’s call. God invites us to belong to His family and journey to our true home in heaven. God’s salvation road takes us to heaven. We journey on this road as a member of His family. God has designed a great adventure for us, an adventure that will end when we celebrate coming home to God’s kingdom. Inspired by the classic American fairy tale, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, let’s explore how we can Follow God’s Salvation Road .
