DailyScheduleThe first morning bell rings at 7:55AM and all students must be in the classroom by 8:00AM.Morningprayerbeginspromptlyat8:00AM.Children,facultyandparentshavetheopportunitytostart thedaybypraying togetherdaily.There isno supervisionon theplayyardbefore7:50AM.Parentsareexpectedtosupervisechildrenbefore7:50AM.Thereisnoplaying(includingrunning)onthefield,playstructure,courtyard,orblacktopbeforeschool.

At certain timesduring the schoolyear, theDepartmentofCatholic Schools authorizesminimumschooldays.MinimumdaysaregivenduringtheweekofParent-TeacherConferences,whichoccurat theendof the first report cardquarter.Theyarealsogivenon thedaybeforemajorholidays,duringthefirstweekofschoolaswellasonthelastdaysoftheschoolyear.Oncertaindaysduringthe school year, the Department of Catholic Schools also grants minimum days to provide forteacher in-service. Parents are reminded of minimum days through the weekly bulletin, themonthlycalendarandtheofficialschoolcalendar.LunchProgramChoicelunch is the systemparentsuse topurchasehotor cold lunch for their students and is anonlineorderingsystem. Itoffers16maincoursechoiceswhichcanbeselectedonlineor throughtheChoicelunchapp.Lunchorderscanbemadeamonthormore inadvance,butmustbeplacedprior to 9:00AM the day before your child needs lunch. The price of lunch includes the entrée(ordered and selectedonline) aswell as a snack, fruit or vegetable, and adrink, all ofwhich areselectedby the student after receiving their entrée. Prices range from$5.70 for a regular entréewithunlimitedfruitandvegetable,onesnackandonedrinkto$6.95foralargeorpremiumentréewithunlimitedfruitandvegetable,onesnackandadrink.St. Raymond families wishing for their children to access Choicelunch can set up their onlineaccount thru the Choicelunch website. Choicelunch also offers a convenient app that can bedownloaded onto your smart phone. Registering for your accounts can be completed atwww.choicelunch.comLunchBroughtfromHomePleasenotethattheschooldoesnotallowstudentstohavesoftdrinks intheirlunchortobringglass containers to school.FASTFOODSARENOTALLOWEDFORSTUDENTS.THISWILLBESTRICTLY ENFORCED. We kindly ask parent visitors to refrain from bringing in take-out foodwhenvisitingforlunch.ExtendedCareandDismissalPursuant to California Education Code 44807, St. Raymond School has an obligation to provideappropriate supervision for students after school hours. In order to ensure that reasonableprecautionistakenfortheafter-schoolsupervisionofstudents,studentswhoarenotpickedupbyparents/authorizedpersonswithinfifteen-minutesafterdismissalwillbecheckedintotheschool’sExtendedCareprogram.Thispolicyapplies toall students inkindergarten througheighthgrade.Junior Kindergarten students are not age-eligible for Extended Care and must be picked up atdismissalwithoutexception.

Students remainingon campus for anyperiodof timeexceeding the fifteen-minutes immediatelyfollowingdismissalwillberequired toattendExtendedCare.Studentswishing todepartcampusindependent of a parent/authorized person must have a written note on file granting parentalpermissionfordismissal.StudentsattendingExtendedCareareexpectedtocomplywithallSt.RaymondSchoolpolicies.Thisincludes all policies found in the Parent-Student Handbook, with special attention to StudentDiscipline,BehaviorExpectations,AcademicIntegrityandAcceptableUseofTechnology.ItisatthediscretionoftheExtendedCareteachersastowhetherpersonaltechnologymaybeusedornot.PleaseNote: Familieswill be billed at the published hourly ratewhen students are checked intoExtendedCare.

GENERALADMINISTRATIVEPOLICIESVisitorsonCampusFor the safety of the students, all visitors to the school, including parents, must check in at theschoolofficeuponarrivalanddeparture.Allvisitorsmustwearavisitorbadge.Teachersareaskedtosendallparentsarrivingtotheirclassroomswithoutavisitorbadgetotheoffice.BicyclesTherearebikerackslocatedoutsidetheofficesothatstudentsmaylocktheirbikesfortheday.Useofbikesduringthedayonschoolpropertyisnotpermitted.Bikesmustbewalkedwhenenteringorleaving school property to ensure the safety of all and are not allowed on the basketball courts.AnyoneridingabikeMUSTwearahelmet.BringingPersonalItemstoSchoolTeacherswillnotifyparentsifspecialmaterialsarerequiredforclass.Studentsarenottohaveoutatanytimeduringthe7:30AM-3:30PMschooldayarticlessuchas:iPods,iPads,iWatches(orother“smart” devices)laptops, cell phones, electronic readers, skateboards, scooters, roller blades,frisbees, toys, etc. Items of this nature out during the 7:30AM-3:30PM school day will beconfiscated.The use of non-St. Raymond School issued technology on campus is not permitted during the7:30AM-3:30PMschoolday.Non-St.RaymondSchoolissuedtechnologyistoremainTURNEDOFFand in the student’sbackpackor lockeruntil theendof the schoolday.Please see theAcceptableUsePolicyformoreinformationandpolicy.Additionaldisciplinaryactionmaybetakenforoffensesbreakingthisrule.LocksandLockersSixth, seventh and eighth graders are issued locks and lockers for their books and backpacks.Studentsaretokeeplockerslockedandfreeoflitter.Theschoolreservestherighttoopenlockersif deemed necessary. If students want to hang/place something in their lockers, they must usemagnetsinsteadoftape.TextbooksStudentsareresponsibleforalltextbooksissuedtothem.Allbooksaretobeprotectedwithbookcoversandcarriedtoandfromschoolinabookbagorbackpack.Studentswillberequiredtopayforanybookthathasbeendamagedorlost.LibraryBooksThenormal checkoutperiod isone-twoweeks, andbooksmaybe renewed foradditionalweeks.Students are required to take good care of library books. Studentswho have not returned their

books by the due date forfeit their privilege for another book. Studentsmust pay for all lost ordamagedbooks.LostandFoundUnclaimed articles are placed in the lost and found basket located in the gym foyer. Parents should look for lost items regularly. It is extremely important that all items be labeled clearly with the child’s first and last name to minimize the loss of items. Any items found in the school building or on the school grounds should be given to the school receptionist to be placed in the Lost and Found basket. Items placed in the Lost and Found remain there for 10 days. After 10 days, items are donated to charity or become part of the Mothers’ Club Used Uniform sale. Students who lose a library book, textbook or workbook must pay the replacement cost of the book plus shipping in order to receive a new copy. SchoolPicturesSchool pictures are taken in the fall of each year for grades JK through eight. Parents have theoptiontopurchasethepictures,butareundernoobligationtodoso.Aprice list is includedwiththepacket.AltarServersThe training of altar servers is begun in the fourth grade and all students are encouraged toparticipateinthisprogram.SacramentalProgramThe sacramental life of the children of the Catholic tradition is an important component of thereligion program at St. Raymond School. Preparations for three sacraments: Reconciliation andEucharist,formthecoreofinstructioninGrade2andConfirmationinGrade8.InaccordancewithArchdiocesanguidelines,candidatesforFirstEucharistwillreceivethesacramentofReconciliationpriortoFirstEucharist.Parentsarerequiredtobeactivepartnersinthepreparationoftheirchildrenforthesesacraments.The sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are only conferred to students baptized in theRomanCatholictradition.FieldTripProceduresTrips into the community and off campus educational activities are encouraged as a means toachieve specific educational objectives. These trips are planned to take into consideration thegrade-level curriculum and accommodate the age level and interests of the students. A field tripdoesnot constitutea schoolholiday; therefore, anyonenotgoingon the field tripmust report toschool.Permissionslipsandinformationconcerningthenatureandcostofthetriparesenthometo parents well in advance of the trip. No student is kept from going on a field trip because ofinabilitytopay. It isrequiredby lawthateachchildhasareturnedandsignedpermissionslip inordertoparticipateinthefieldtrip.Anadequatenumberofparentvolunteerswillaccompanythestudents and their teachers on the trip. Individuals driving must be 25 years or older and theinsuranceinformationformmustbesubmittedtotheschoolofficepriortothetripalongwiththeCertificateofShieldtheVulnerable.Driversmustadheretoscheduleditinerary,makingNOstopswithonlytheirgroup.NOsiblingsareallowedonschool-sponsoredfieldtrips.Duetorecent legislation,childrenunderageeightor4’9”mustrideinapprovedsafetyseats.Forpositive representationofour school and tokeepour childreneasily identifiable in a crowd,uniforms (including sweaters) are to be worn on field trips unless otherwise noted by theirteacher(s).Teachersarenottodriveonfieldtrips.Fieldtripparentsshouldscheduletwoback-up

driversincaseofcancellations.Please,ifyouridewithotherparentsonafieldtrip,parkyourcarnearthechurchorparishcenter.DONOTleaveyourcarontheschoolyard.Schoolfieldtripsareaprivilege.Studentsmaybedeniedparticipationiftheyfailtomeetacademicorbehavioral requirements. From time-to-time, other trips are arrangedeitherby the classroomteacherorparentvolunteers.Theaboverulesapplytoanyandallclasstrips.CelebratingBirthdaysatSchoolParentsshouldrequestpermissionfromtheirchild’shomeroomteachernolessthanoneweekbeforethey intend tobringclass treats tocelebrateachild’sbirthday.Teachersmayneed toreschedulebirthday treat dates to avoid havingmultiple treats on the same day. Additionally, teachers canshareanypotentialfoodallergiestokeepinconsideration.Ourbirthdaycelebrationsatschoolarerichwithritualandpersonalexpression.Foodcanbeapartofthecelebrationbutisnotessentialtoit.Ifyouchoosetohelpyourchildbringfoodtosharewiththechildren,letitbebecauseyouandyourchildhavetimetoplan,shopandpreparesomethingspecialtogether.Weaskthatyoupleasekeepthesugarlevelinmind.Parentsselectingtobringintreatsmustbringenoughfortheentireclass.Treatsshouldbebroughttotheclassroombeforethebeginningoftheschooldayor to the schooloffice if after schoolhas started.Treatsneed tobe small, simple, andsnack-likeitem.Whilewearenotforbiddingsweettreats,weaskthatyouconsiderthesugarlevelofbirthdaytreats.Whataresomegreatalternativestocupcakes,cookies,icecream,etc?Atrayofhors d’oeuvres can be a special treat for birthdays and holidays. Elementary children are oldenoughtobemoreadventuresomeintheirtreats,andwewanttoencouragethisatSt.Raymond.You could pick the idea at home and spend a little time discussing the special foods your childfavors:variouscheeses,olives,newvegetablesandfruits,andcrackers.Letyourchild,underyourguidance,puttogetheraplatterofhis/herownhorsd’oeuvresorsetupado-ityourselftray.PartiesOffCampusEven though a party takes place off campus, St. Raymond School does not approve of studentsattendingexclusiveparties.Theeffectsof thepartyalmostalwayssurfaceatschool—positiveornegative. Ultimately, the school encourages parents to hold parties that will contribute to thehappiness andwell-being of the entire class, and the school actively supports parents inmakingdecisionsthathopefullywillbringaboutsuchresults.

● Parentsmustseriouslyconsiderhowmanystudentswillbeinvitedtoaparty.Smallguestlistsmaybeappropriate,butleavingoutonlyafewchildrenfromtheclasscausesproblems.Theschoolpolicyisthatfamiliesshouldinvitelessthanhalfoftheboys/girlsorinvitethemall.Additionally,noinvitationsaretobebroughtordistributedatschoolunlessallstudents(girl party-all girls, boy party-all boys) are included. Activities should be age appropriateandchildrenmustbeproperlysupervisedatalltimes.

● St.RaymondSchooldoesnotapproveof students in the6th,7thand8thgradeattendinghighschooldances.

StudentCouncilThe Student Council is designed to facilitate communication between the students, teachers andadministration while fostering leadership development. Through class representatives, eachstudenthasanopportunitytoparticipate intheireducation.TheCouncilservesasatool throughwhich students, teachers and administrators express concerns over the issues, which affect theschool.Tobeeligible toserveasanofficeronStudentCouncil, a studentmusthaveat leasta “B-”gradepointaverageanda“1”or“2”inbehavioralexpectationsandlearningskills(conductandeffort)inallsubjectareas.Studentsmustalsoberegisteredforthefollowingschoolyear.

Studentswhomeet the requirement and are serious about committing time and energy to theirduties are encouraged to run. Parents should realize that elected officers are expected to beavailableforsomeresponsibilitiesthatarisefromtime-to-timeoutsidenormalschoolhours.

PARENTENGAGEMENTAdvisoryBoardTheAdvisoryBoardofEducationisanadvisorybodytothepastorandtheprincipal.Theareasofresponsibilityare:

St.RaymondFathers’ClubThemission of theMen's Club is to promote excellence in the athletic programs at St. RaymondSchool and to encourage fellowship among themembers of the Fathers’ Club. The Fathers’ Clubsupportstheparticipationofstudentsinathleticactivities,andseekstoprovidethehighestqualityfacilitiesfortheathleticactivitiesofSt.RaymondSchool.St.RaymondSchoolMothers’ClubThe Mothers' Club functions as a source of spiritual enrichment and friendship and to providevolunteer service to support St. Raymond School. A primary objective of theMothers' Club is toraise funds for school programs and needs not covered by tuition. Specifically, St. RaymondMothers'Clubconcentratesonthreeareas:community,fundraising,andschoolservice.ParentVolunteerProgramThe success of St. Raymond School in educating children requires the involvement of parents indevelopingaschoolcommunity.Astrong financialbase forschooloperations isattained throughcontributionsofmoneyandmaterialsfromparents’clubsandtuition.Thisfinancialsupportisonlyoneoftheresourcesnecessarytomaintainingastrongschool.The other necessary resource is the contribution of parents’ time. Each family is required tovolunteertwenty(20)hourstotheschooleachyear.Thevolunteercommitmentcanbefulfilledbyworkingonvariouscommitteesthroughouttheyear,helpingintheclassroomandatschooleventsand fundraisers, with yard duty and hot lunch, sports, baking, and uniform exchange, etc. Allparents are required to complete both their Shield the Vulnerable training aswell as undergo abackgroundcheck. .Theschool cannotpermitparentsoradultswhohavenotcompletedbothoftheserequirementsoncampus.Inaddition,familiesarealsoaskedtoparticipateintheSCRIPprogram.Forfamiliesthatselectthe“participatory”tuitionrate,theyearlySCRIPcommitmentis$5,000.ShieldtheVulnerableArchdiocesanRequirementAlladultsworkingwithchildrenorintendingtocomeoncampusforeventsmustbetrainedusingthe Adult Training Program, "Protect Children.” This requirement is for ALL PARENTS andADULTSwhowish to come on campus regardless of if they plan to volunteer. This trainingwasmandated inOctoberof2006byArchbishopGeorgeNiederauer forallemployeesandvolunteersworkingwith children andyouth in theArchdiocese.The curriculumraises awareness regardingrecognizing,reportingandpreventingchildabuse.ThePoliciesandProceduresandtheStandardsof Conduct regarding sexualmisconduct in theArchdiocese of San Francisco are also part of thetraining. The course is user friendly and available in English and Spanish.

ADMISSIONPOLICY

Non-DiscriminationPolicySt.RaymondSchoolwelcomesstudentsofanyreligion,race,colorandnationalorethnicorigin.Anyinterestedfamily,subjecttospaceavailability,cansubmitanapplicationtotheschool.ThisSchoolgives preference in admission to siblings, to Catholic studentswho aremembers of St. RaymondParish, tootherCatholicstudentsand finally tonon-Catholics.All familiesapplying foradmissionmustbewillingtoacceptthestatedmission,philosophyandpoliciesofSt.RaymondSchool.AllnewfamiliesarerequiredtoattendtheNewParentOrientationmeetingatthebeginningoftheschoolyear. TuitionAssistanceAssistance is available to families with severe financial needs. Applications for assistance areavailableon the schoolwebsiteunder “admissions”, “tuitionassistance”. Familieswhose childrenareadmittedtotheschoolwillnotbedeniedassistanceonthebasisofrace,sexornationalorigin.RegistrationFeeThisannual fee ischargedtocoverthecostofbooks,supplies, insurance,annual testing,etc. It isdueandpayablewhenyoure-registeryourchildoratthetimeofacceptanceasanewstudent.Alltuition and fees for the current yearmust be paid before re-registration is accepted or the newstudentisenrolled.Thisfeeisnon-refundable.ApplicationandTestingFeeThere is an application/testing fee for each child. This fee covers the expense of testing newstudentsandprocessingtheapplication.TransferofStudentsWeunderstandunexpectedeventsoccurthatmaynecessitateamid-yearneedfortransfer.NoticeofwithdrawalofastudentmustbemadebytheparentinwritingtothePrincipalinadvanceofthewithdrawaldate.Anappointmentforanexitinterviewwillbescheduleduponnotification.Advancenoticeenablestheschooltopreparenecessaryinformationandsettleaccounts.NostudentrecordswillbeforwardedtoanotherschooluntilBusinessOfficeaccountshavebeensettled.FamiliesmovingwiththeintentionofreturningshoulddiscusstheirintentionsasearlyaspossiblewiththePrincipal. ATTENDANCEAttendanceDaily attendance is taken at the beginning of the day. ChapterVI:Athletics

SPORTSOBJECTIVESANDPOLICYThe purpose of the St. Raymond School sports program is to instruct the students in thefundamentalsofindividualsports,tooccupytimeoutsidetheregularschoolhoursinahealthyandconstructiveway,andtoteachteamworkandgoodsportsmanship.Thepastorandprincipalretainresponsibility over all school teams. The athletic program must not interfere with the normalroutineofschoolnorshoulditencouragepracticescontrarytogoodsportsmanship.EligibilityPolicyStudentathletesareexpectedtomaintainastrongcommitmenttotheiracademicperformanceandcampus behavior. A student may be removed from an athletic team at any time by theadministration. The time removedwill vary at the discretion of the administration ranging fromone(1)weektothree(3)weeksduringtheseason.Reasonsforremovalmay includebutarenotlimitedtoanyofthefollowing:

● ThestudentdropsbelowaC-average;● ThestudenthasaDorFgradeinanysubjectarea;● The student has “3“ or below in behavioral expectations or learning skills inany subject

area; ● Thestudentisnotinattendanceforthefullschooldayofthecompetition;● ThestudentisunabletoparticipateinPhysicalEducation;● Thestudentreceivesmorethanfive(5)detentionsduringaseason;● Thestudentisinvolvedinadisciplinarysituation;● OtherfactorsasdeterminedbythePrincipalinconsultationwiththePastor.

The Athletic Director will supervise and operate the program through his/her coaches andassistants. They will encourage the support of the parents at all competitive events and in theoperation of the program. The coaches of the sports have the responsibility to encourage thedevelopment of skills in each individual team member through participation in all games. TheparentsofthestudentswhoparticipateinthesesportsshouldbeencouragedtoattendgamesandtosetaChristianexampleforthestudentsatallathleticevents.ParticipationRulesBothboysandgirlsmustabidebytheConstitutionandBy-LawsofthePeninsulaParochialSchoolLeague(PPSL).UnderPPSLguidelines,studentsingradesK-3arenoteligibletoparticipateinPPSLor representamember school inanyathleticevent. It is theobjectiveof theSt.RaymondSchoolsportsprogramthatallteammembersparticipateforareasonableamountofplayingtimeduringthecourseofeachsport’sseasoncoveringleagueandnon-leaguegames.Asageneralguideline,thecoachesofeachteamshouldtrytomaximizetheparticipationofall teammembers. Itwillbethedutyof the coaches touse judgmentandsensitivity towardmeeting thisobjective.The followingfactorsshouldbeweighedineachgameandappropriateadjustmentscanbemadeoveraseriesofgamestomeettheaboveobjective:

● attendanceatpracticesandattitudeoftheteammember;● attendanceatschool● numberofplayersontheteamthatmustdivideplayingtime;● desireofeachstudenttoplayinagivensituation.

Therewillbenocuttingofplayers fromanysports teamother than fordisciplinaryreasons(e.g.failure toattendpractices, failure toconformtoSt.RaymondSchool’sbehavioral standards).TheAthleticDirectorisempoweredtoreviewtheperformanceofeachcoachwithrespecttothispolicyandtochangecoachesintheeventofnon-compliance.

AthleticFeesandUniformsStudentsmaynotparticipateingameplayuntiltheirathleticfeehasbeenpaid.Uniformsareissuedbytheschoolandaretobereturnedwashedandinalabeledzipperbagattheendoftheseason.Students will be charged for lost or damaged uniforms. Students who have not returned theiruniformfromthepreviousseasonmaynotparticipateingamesuntiluniformsarereturned.InappropriateBehaviorAny spectator attending the games shallmodel good sportsmanship. SCHOOLUNIFORMPOLICY

Theprincipal reserves the right to amend, suspendor add anynew rules to the aforementionedpolicy. Studentsare towear the schooluniform from thebeginning to theendof the schoolday.Thisisintendedtoeliminatedistractingcompetitionindressandtoevidenceaconstructivespiritandprideintheschoolandineachother.It is the responsibility of the parents to make sure that students observe the dress code of theschool.Studentswhomustbeoutofanyportionoftheuniformshouldbringanotesignedbytheparentstotheclassroomteacherandtheofficeexplainingthereasonforbeingoutofuniform.Studentswho arrive at schoolwithout proper uniformwill be asked to call home to request theappropriate/missing pieces be delivered. DISCIPLINARYCONSEQUENCES

DetentionDetentionisheldforthirty-minutes(30)afterschool(starting3:15PM)forstudentsingrades6-8.Detention is assigned at the discretion of the teacher/administration. Studentswho are issued adetention are to report to the next detention session. Detentionwill consist of a project for theschoolorsilentsittingandreflection.Nohomeworkortalkingwillbepermitted.Detentionmaybeassignedfordisciplineorattendance.MiddleSchoolstudentswhoaretardymorethan three times in a quarter will receive adetention for each subsequent tardy (tardy 4 andbeyond).Students who receivemore than five (5) detentions in an athletic seasonmay be suspended orremoved completely from the team. SuspensionAperiodofsuspensioncanberequiredformoreseriousviolationsofschoolpolicies.Thestudentshallbegiventheopportunitytomakeupworkmissedduringaperiodofsuspension.Studentsareineligible to participate in or attend any school activities while suspended. StudentsatSt.RaymondSchoolareprivilegedtohaveaccesstolaptops,desktops,iPodsandiPadsfor classroomand1:1 use. This privilege comeswith responsibility and expectations for studentbehaviorandjudgment.Asatechnologyuser,IagreetofollowtherulesandcodeofethicsinallofmyworkwithtechnologywhileattendingSt.RaymondSchool:We believe that the primary purpose of technology systems at St. Raymond School is toimprove/enhanceteachingandsupportstudentlearning.ItisexpectedthatstudentswillusetheseresourcesresponsiblyandforeducationalpurposesthatalignwiththemissionandphilosophyofSt.RaymondSchool.Theguidelinesset forth inbeloware tohelpstudents, teachers,andparentsunderstandappropriateuseoftechnologyandresourcesforthispurpose.CellPhonesandTextingSt. Raymond School operates in an atmosphere of trust. SocialNetworkingSite:Studentsmaynotaccesssocialnetworkingsitesatschool.Socialmedia, including but not limited to services such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram,Snapchat,YouTube,etc.canbepowerfullearning,collaboration,andcommunicationtoolsandshouldbejudiciouslyemployedbyallstudentsinthepursuitoflearning.Disciplinaryactionmayresultfromdefamatorycommentsmadebystudentsorparentsregardingtheschool, faculty, or another student in the school while on social networking sites. Evenwhen not physically at school, school guidelines regarding respectful and responsibletreatmentofothersstillapply.

SectionB:OnCampusTechnologyOutsideof7:30AM-3:30PMSchoolHoursTheremaybetimesthatstudentsemploypersonalorschoolissuedtechnologyoncampusoutsideof the 7:30AM-3:30PM school hours with teacher permission. During these times, parentsacknowledge that St. Raymond School cannot be expected to provide supervision for on campustechnologyandthereforethefullburdenofresponsibilityforcompliancewiththeAcceptableUsePolicy is on the student and parent(s). Violations of the Acceptable Use Policy will be pursuedwithouthesitation.SectionC:StudentAgreementThissectionistobereadto/bystudentsingradesJKthrough8anddiscussedwiththeirparentorguardian.

PersonalResponsibility:IunderstandthattheprimarypurposeoftechnologysystemsatSt.RaymondSchoolistoimprove/enhanceteachingandsupportstudentlearning.Theuseoftechnology,network,andotherresourcesatSt.RaymondSchoolisaprivilege.Iwillusethese resources responsibly and for education purposes that alignwith themission andphilosophyoftheschool.
