CHILD CARE BENEFIT PROVIDER NUMBER - VACATION CARE: 555 010 121B

Opening Times: 7:00am to 6:15pm Monday to Friday (Closed Public Holidays)

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AS INFORMATION IS UPDATED REGULARLY. If you are using our service for the first time,

or have not recently read the ‘KIDS’ ZONE - ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW’ information package, please ensure you obtain a

copy (updated June 2016). In addition, please check the details we have on your enrolment form for your child/ren, to

ensure they are correct. If you have not completed a PINK enrolment form, or updated your details recently, please

complete one or check your current details PRIOR to the commencement of Vacation Care.

Please be aware that you will be charged for ALL booked care unless it is cancelled by 6:15pm Friday of the week

prior (Thursday if Friday is a public holiday), even if you do not use the care and regardless of the reason why care

was cancelled. Please refer to our “Kids’ Zone - All You Need To Know” handbook for more information. For excursion times,

please refer to the programme attached & ensure your child/ren are here at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled

departure times. As you would appreciate, we need this time to confirm the number of children we are taking and to organise

the final arrangements regarding staffing and transport, to ensure the safety of your child/ren. If your child/ren is not

here by the time we leave, no one will be available to care for your child/ren at Kids’ Zone, so they cannot stay, nor can they

join the excursion once we have left, unless a prior arrangement has been authorised.

Fees per child

Home Day $46.00 Excursion Day $52.00

Late Booking Fee $ 5.00 per child NO Booking Fee $10.00 per child

Late Pick-Up Fee $15.00 per family (after 6.15pm per every 15 minutes or part thereof)

These charges are necessary to ensure continuous quality care and to meet Licensing and Standards staff to child ratios.

Child Care Benefit & Child Care Rebate – Please refer to ‘KIDS’ ZONE - ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW’.

***Bookings ***and Payment Conditions

The last day of term is Friday 8th July 2016. Parents are encouraged to book early for Vacation Care, as the programme

is very popular and once full, children will be placed on a waiting list. Waiting lists will be managed according to priority of

access guidelines. Bookings will only be accepted once the booking form has been received with appropriate consents signed

and the deposit paid. Booking forms can be posted, faxed or scanned and emailed to us. Our Vacation Care booking

deadline is two weeks before the end of term, which is the 24th June 2016 for this Vacation Care period. Casual

workers are encouraged to book any care they may need before the booking deadline and cancel any care not required

by 6:15pm of the week prior to avoid charges. If a child is booked after the booking deadline, a late booking fee of

$5.00 per child applies. If a child arrives without being booked in, a penalty fee of $10.00 applies. Please do not

assume that we will be able to provide care for your child/ren, as we may be limited by venue bookings, staffing and

transport or licensed places. Vacation Care bookings WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT A DEPOSIT. Bookings will

be allocated to other children if a deposit is not paid. Bookings cannot be accepted for accounts with overdue monies

owing on either OSHC/Vacation Care. Vacation Care accounts will be issued every Tuesday in arrears. Accounts are

to be paid weekly.

Arrival and Departure

Parents and carers must ensure that children are signed in and out each day of attendance. To ensure the safety of your

child, please notify an educator of their arrival and departure (please refer to our policy regarding the dropping off and

collection of children).

Food and Drink

Children should be provided with a nutritious RECESS and LUNCH every day (or lunch order on home days). We do provide

an afternoon snack at approximately 3:45 pm, however on occasions this may not be until 4:15 pm. Please provide your

child/ren with recess and a packed lunch on excursion days. Please also ensure they have at least a litre of drink on

excursion days. To minimise the risk of bacterial infection, we suggest that an ice pack is put in their lunch box. We also

encourage you to reduce waste by providing food in containers rather than packaged food for your children. Spending

money will not be permitted on any day. In fairness to all children attending we cannot allow ANY child to buy food /

drink whilst on excursions so please provide them with a packed lunch & recess. We hope you understand the

difficulties in monitoring this and the issues that arise with children’s varied socio-economic backgrounds. Lunch can be

ordered from the local deli on non-excursion days (please refer to the attached menu). Please complete a lunch order form

(provided near the signing in/out book) & give (with payment) to a Kids’ Zone educator. Change will be given to your child/ren

with their order unless you specify otherwise. There are some special lunches to be provided during these holidays as

follows: On Wednesday 13th July we will be preparing a homemade Indian lunch, including mild Indian curries and

sweets and treats. On Friday 22nd July we will be having our traditional Pizza Hut pizza lunch (including

lemonade/squash). Please let an educator know if your child will be bringing their own lunch instead on either of these days.

Suitable clothing

We would really like your child to get the most out of each day, so please ensure your child is appropriately dressed, as some

of our programmed activities can be messy. We do provide paint shirts where required, however it is not unusual for

children to get dirty. Please send your child wearing safe, comfortable shoes (no thongs or heels please).

Sun Safe Policy – “SLIP, SLOP, SLAP, SEEK & SLIDE!”

ALL children are required to wear a hat outdoors between September & April when the UV is 3 or above so please

provide one, otherwise he/she may miss out on certain activities. Approved hats are legionnaires, broad brimmed or a

bucket hat (no caps please). Hats can be kept in children’s bags or placed in one of our labelled, plastic, zip-lock bags stored

at Kids’ Zone. Although we apply sunscreen during the day, we would appreciate a thorough application on your child before

arrival at Kids’ Zone each morning. If your child has a sunscreen allergy, please discuss sun safe strategies with us or

provide an appropriate sunscreen for them to use. We also encourage you to send your child wearing a T-shirt, rather than

singlets or tank tops. Please see the programme for any other specific clothing requirements for excursions or activities.

Your child MUST have a T-shirt or rash shirt to participate in outdoor water activities.

Excursion Days/Special Activities

If we are offering a choice of two excursions on the same day, please ensure that your child(ren) discuss it with you and

their friendship group, when choosing which one they will be attending. Due to staff to child ratios and venue bookings, we

are unable to allow them to swap. Some excursions / activities may need to be cancelled due to the heat or wet weather. If

this happens, a decision will be made by 6.15pm the previous day (when possible). Risk Assessments have been conducted for

all venues – information available on request.

Excursion Days Transportation

On all excursions, the children will be transported by Kanga Coachlines. The staff will travel on the bus with the children.

Risk Assessments have been conducted for transportation to venues - information available on request.

Wheels Day

Please observe that there is one day these holidays where children will be able to bring bikes, skateboards, scooters and

roller blades. A helmet is the minimum safety equipment required, however knee/wrist/elbow pads etc. are strongly

encouraged. Children are not permitted to use other children’s equipment (unless same family).

Water Restrictions

Permanent water conservation measures are now in force in South Australia. The permanent measures reflect an ongoing

commitment by the State Government to water conservation and to sustainable management of our precious water

resources. We have therefore limited our inclusion of water play activities accordingly.

Kids’ Zone Contact Numbers

We can be contacted on the following numbers 8365 5677, M1: 0431551009 or M2: 0403357024. If staff are unable to

answer the phone, a message can be left on our answering machine and (if necessary) we will return your call as soon as

possible.
